If you live near a Rexall store in Ontario, you can pick up some discounted gift cards starting tomorrow. Save 20% on all Boston Pizza, DAVIDsTEA, PetSmart and Pizza Pizza gift cards from February 9th to 15th.
This is a better deal than Canadian Tire for Boston Pizza and DAVIDsTEA and we all know how expensive pets can be, so 20% off your Petsmart purchase is always good. It is adopt-a-thon weekend at Petsmart and while you can’t use the gift card on your new pet (they deal with rescues that you pay directly), you can use the gift card to save on all the food, toys and treats for your new furry friend.
If it is a store or restaurant you buy from frequently, buy them now at 20% off to make your own deal at the retailer later.
See the Rexall flyer for this deal here.
Now that the program is “fully functional”, how is the new PC Optimum working for you?
Last week, we saw generic offers while they connected our previous shopping to our accounts. Today, my own offers are mostly items I would buy. Not necessarily this week, but mostly not items that are far removed from my usual shopping preferences. There are some duplicates that I am not sure are an error or will credit twice (if so, free cookies!). It still seems a little buggy too. I woke up to 26 offers but now only have 19 showing. How are your offers looking?
There are very little changes as far as PC Plus, but Shoppers Drug Mart is quite the change. I have very little in my offers that could be purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart. Sure, I have the exclusive when you spend offers over the week, but none of the items I would buy to maximize my points.
Shoppers Drug Mart has a flyer offer of 25,000 points when you spend $75 or more this weekend. While they claim that this is in line with previous offers, you can’t save them to make the usual 18,500 Shoppers Optimum points worth more at bonus redemption. Even at the old maximum redemption of $170, those points were worth $33. Will this impact how you shop at Shoppers Drug Mart? Do you have more drug store type offers showing?
It is definitely nice to see some store offers for No Frills. They are likely just introductory offers and will decrease at some point so take advantage while you can. There is very little change for me compared to PC Plus now that my offers have normalized. I wouldn’t make a trip to the grocery store for just $10 so the lower redemption threshold isn’t a big deal for me.
It is also nice to see that not only are the buttons for saving an offer for next week or not showing one again working, but available for those who use web access instead of the app.
Are the store offers enticing you into Loblaws banner stores? Have you experienced the communication failures that many are talking about and not receiving points? Hopefully now that many people have switched their cards, the glitches will become a thing of the past.
What are your thoughts on the changes? Will you shop more or less at these stores? Do you miss your old Shoppers Optimum program already?

Make your own sale with some discounted gift cards from Canadian Tire. Starting on Friday 9th February, save 10% on all Boston Pizza, DAVIDsTEA, Kobo and Xbox gift cards.
Many Canadian Tire stores do not have large racks of gift cards, so a good idea to shop early. With Valentine’s Day, people are more likely to be shopping for gift cards. There is no minimum limit on the value of the gift cards, but many stores will only sell $50 cards. There is also no limit, but stores can limit purchases due to fraud if not paying cash.
While the cards offered this week are fairly specialized, if you will use them, always good to buy them at a discount.
The flyer for Canadian Tire should be available soon in our flyer section.

For those of you who are blessed enough to be born in the month of March, meaning you’re either a Pisces or an Aries (coincidentally, the two signs that both my sisters and best friend fall under), then you’ll be excited to hear about this most recent coin offering from the Royal Canadian Mint.
Right now, you can pick up a March Birthstone – Pure Silver Coin made with Swarovski Crystals – Mintage: 4,000 for just $54.95. This iconic coin will include a genuine Swarovski crystal, embossed in the centre of the henna-inspired mandala motif, all of which is coloured in aquamarine – March’s birthstone colour.
If you’re not born in March, or even if you are, this next coin collection is one that does not disqualify based on the month you were born in to garner your attention. Right now you can become a subscriber to the 3-coin Star Trek Iconic Starships collection. The collection will cost $64.95/coin, but once you subscribe the fees will automatically be charged for each month a new coin becomes available so all you have to do is await your coin’s arrival each month.
The full collection will include:
What’s more, is that each of these coins will come with their own individual premium graphic boxes so as to preserve the coins for a lifetime and beyond.
The Royal Canadian Mint offers FREE shipping on all orders within Canada and the US that are $100 or more.

Canadians can rejoice once more, particularly where it concerns Disney Cruise Line vacations, as right now you can save 25% off on select 7-night Caribbean cruises leaving on either May 5 and May 12.
You will be able to choose from a stateroom that’s one of the following: Verandah (excluding Concierge), Oceanview and Inside Staterooms, and your discount will be 25% from the quoted price on Disneycruise.com.
If you haven’t figured out your plans for March Break this year, and would rather take the kids out of school for a week to play on a cruise for a discounted rate and create memories that will last a lifetime, then this offer may be just for you.
The prices quoted above are for a family of four, two adults and two kids under the age of 12. Regularly, these prices would be at least $1000 USD more than the prices shown. For instance, the 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral would cost $1,421 more than the price of $4,644 that Canadian residents would pay.
You must be a Canadian resident to book this cruise, as you will be required to show proof of this upon arrival at the cruise.
You should also remember what is and isn’t included in a Disney cruise, though majority of the things you would need on vacation (entertainment, food and accommodation) are covered. But you can see a full list of what’s included on the cruise here.
To book this offer, you will have the option of booking online or through a travel agent by calling, (800) 491-9744.
