To celebrate Canada Day, which is now less than a month away, the Royal Canadian Mint has decided to put out a special promotion on their Canadian Flag – 25-Cent Circulation Coin Pack, as it is also the 50th anniversary of our nation’s flag. The 10-piece quarter set will be being sold for its face value of $2.50, and will also come with free-shipping and, for an even greater incentive, no tax.

Since the coin set is essentially a no lose investment (as you can always return the coins can be used in regular circulation), this offer can be confidentially labelled ‘hot’.

The coin itself features the designs of the artist Bonnie Ross who drew 50 children surrounding the Canadian flag to represent the 50 years that we have proudly had this symbol of Canada to call our own. In the set, you will receive 5 coloured coins (as shown above) and 5 non-coloured coins.

I personally find that coin sets such as these make great add-ons to graduation presents, as they indicate the year that the graduation took place which gives your gift a more sentimental and commemorative value.

There is a limit of one order per household.

I’ll be the first to admit that, while Michael Kors Canada does produce some fine products, most of the time they’re luxury handbags and fine designer shoes are well outside my budget for clothing, and sometimes even outside of my budget for household kitchen appliances! However, within their summer sale I can slowly begin to readjust my spending frame so as to accommodate for these beautifully crafted accessories, as some of the products listed are being sold for up to 50% off!

When I first began looking through the sale, one of the first bags that caught my eye was this Cindy Medium Saffiano Leather Dome Satchel, which is now on sale for just $208.50 (was $268). While $208.50 is still a bit more then I’d like to pay for a handbag, the refined details of Saffiano leather and silver finished hardware give the bag an added elegance that you would be hard pressed to find in a lesser quality bag.

If you’d rather stay within your shopping budget, then you may be more comfortable in the Micahel Kors apparel sale where you can find designer tops, pants and dresses for under $100. For instance, this summery embroidered slouchy top is currently on sale for just $87 (was $145).

Since you will probably be spending a fair amount of money within this sale – even if you are trying to be frugal – you can at least take solace in knowing that you will be receiving free-shipping on your order, as Michael Kors offers it on all orders with no minimum purchase required.

Coupons for ice cream, confection, candy, and chocolate are usually some of the most popular ones, and here is a new coupon for chocolate, albeit a slightly odd one. Save $1.38 on the purchase of any Brookside Dark Chocolate product with this new printable coupon. Yes, you read that correctly, exactly $1.38, not one penny more or less. I’m not entirely sure how they come up with that amount and perhaps there is a explanation, but if this coupon scores you a great deal on chocolate then I suppose it doesn’t really matter.

This coupon can be printed once per account and twice per computer. It is a Save.ca coupon so you will have to log in to your account once you follow the link below.

There’s some unfortunate news just released today. Blacks Photography Canada has just announced that they will be closing all 59 of their store locations. Blacks tried to overhaul their stores last year and have made attempts to evolve in the new digital age, but unfortunately they haven’t been able to realize a profitable enough growth. Unfortunately attempts to find a buyer for Blacks have failed as well.

The closure will leave approximately 485 employees without jobs, but Telus, Blacks’ parent company, will attempt to find employees spots at other outlets such as Telus or Koodo. Others who cannot be found positions will be offered a “transition package”.

Right now there is no word about how Blacks will unload their remaining merchandise, or when the sales will start. All stores are expected to close on August 8, 2015.
