One of the great thing about being an Optimum addict is making friends with cashiers who will tell you about upcoming promotions.  Several of our forum members have been told that the upcoming promotion is a bonus redemption event.

• Redeem 50,000 Optimum points and get $100 to spend (regular $85)
• Redeem 95,000 Optimum points and get $200 to spend (regular $170)

These events are great for picking up big ticket items.  I find the prices for redemption events are higher for the regular items I buy so make sure you are getting your money’s worth shopping at the bonus redemption event.  If you work in downtown city cores like Toronto or Ottawa, you can often redeem on Friday and use the current flyer to give you more choice in sale prices.

Remember, when redeeming you will not earn points on items that are 20x Optimum points, but you do get points when the item has a set number of points, so stock up on those and get some of your points back.

Hopefully we will have a flyer sneak peek for you soon!

From May the 9th to the 15th, Metro Ontario has Dial Body Wash on sale for only $1.99. Use this printable coupon (select Dial from the brand drop down menu) for $2 off when you purchase two Dial Body Washes, and pay only $0.99 each.

If you purchase three body washes, you can get a free movie pass with the mail in rebate pictured above. This particular rebate was found on a display in store so be sure to look for it. With this rebate, purchase three participating Dial Body Washes, and get a free movie pass. This offer is valid until June 30th 2014, so you have a couple months to find the rebate form. That’s three body washes and a movie pass for only $2.97!

Next week at Metro’s Ontario stores, buy 5 selected Selection or Irresistibles branded products and get 50 bonus Air Miles.  These products start at $2.49 so you can get over $5 worth of Air Miles for $12.45.

Included in the offer are:

• Selection: shredded cheese, cheese slices, olives, ketchup, mayonnaise, ice cream, spring water, cookies, plates, napkins or cups

• Irresistibles: salad dressing, croutons or whipped dressing

These are Metro brands so there are likely no coupons unless we are lucky enough to get weekly printable coupons valid on them, but you can save a significant amount when you factor in the value of the Air Miles.

It is time for the semi-annual sale at Payless ShoeSource.  Now through May 21st, visit any Payless location and find select styles at up to 30%.

Payless Rewards members can save even more.  There is a coupon for 20%  off with no exclusions, combine with sale products, clearance or just make your own sale on a full priced item.  You cannot use this coupon with other coupon codes including the $4 receipt coupons (but you should get a survey coupon on your receipt for next time).  Click here to save this coupon and show it on your phone to save.  You do need to be a Payless Rewards member but you can sign-up easily in-store for immediate membership, it is free and they send regular coupons.

I popped by Bulk Barn this morning and received notice of an upcoming promotion. Shop at Bulk Barn between May 13th to 15th and get a $5 gift card when you spend $15 or more.

There is a limit of one gift card per customer per visit.  The $15 minimum purchase does not include taxes and excludes gift cards.  The gift cards are only available while supplies last so shop early if you visit a busy Bulk Barn location.  You cannot use the gift card on that purchase but you can use it as cash towards a future purchase during the promotion.
