Hey Boo! These is a summission for the Christmas contest.
 
The following is true.
 
First I have to say that my family and I are very very close.. although the we are seperated by the miles we talk 2-3 times a day.
 
Back in Christmas 2005, my hubby & I booked airline tickets to visit our families in Newfoundland (we live in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario). We only informed my brother, my Aunt Joan and hubby’s sister. The rest of our family DID NOT know any of the Christmas plans.
 
I informed my parents that we sent our Christmas gifts to the family via Canada Post (but of couse we kept them until we flew in on December 21). My Dad would visit the mail box everyday and no gifts..he went as far and going to the Canada Post post office and informing them there SHOULD be a parcel for him. but there was no parecel.  My Mom on the other hand was not really in the christmas spirits, she really wanted to see me and my husband for the holidays. We explained to her that we just couldn’t get time off work and all the flights we booked up. (Meanwhile we booked the flights back in September of that year).
 
So on Decemebr 21 we arrived in the afternoon and my brother picked us from the airport. The plan was to suprise my family at my Aunt Joan’s. My Aunt Joan had invited all my family at her house for supper, which is nothing out of the ordinary. My hubby and I landed and we went to my Aunt Joan’s  We called while in route, Aunt Joan never let on that it was us on the phone. So after supper everyone was watching the local 6:00 news (in their basement reckroom). We came in the front upstairs door and my Aunt Joan said to my family so that must be her son coming home for something that he forgot. 😉
 
Hubby and I went downstairs and walked into the room and my parents went into shock!! :0
 
My Dad started to cry like a  baby!! (the last time I saw my Dad cry was when my Grandfather died 8 years ago)  My Mom sat up and sat down – she didn’t know what to with herself. Both my parents couldn’t believe that we were there. At one point I thought my Mom had a heart attack for the suprise we gave her! She went all white and couldn’t speak!! Everyone started to cry, everyone was sooooooo happy and overjoyed!!! Mom then said “Oh I must go home and get home and get ready for Christmas!” You never seen a women move so fast to get home and prepare Christmas “tasks.
 
We gave the Christmas gifts on Christmas day and my dad started to laugh… rememebering all the times we travelled to the post office for the Christmas parcels. 🙂
 
Hubby and I left my Aunt’s house and started to visiting our friends and families that night. We surprised so many individuals that night, but surprising my parents was the best!!
 
That was one of the best Christmases ever!!!!

I’m very sorry for my very long absence. School took all of my time and I barely had any free time to do anything else. We’re back to normal now and you should be seeing more contests as well as deals on the blog.

Starbucks has had a special everyday for their “12 days of Wishing” promo, this included reduced prices on mugs, tumblers and stuff. Today’s special is the last one, and a great one!

Some confusion on what the deal will actually be in Canada though, I have read that it’s $7.95 for the 1lb bag (hence the picture), however that is probably the US sale and the US price, so keep that in mind if you go tomorrow.

I have bought the Christmas blend already this season and love this blend. I can’t remember exactly how much it is normally, on the Starbucks US site it shows it as $12.95. It is described as a “unique blend of beans that makes this coffee such a fitting accompaniment for your holiday taste traditions. Our Christmas Blend is sweet and spicy, with a flavor derived from bright, sparkling Latin American coffees and smooth, full-bodied Asia/Pacific beans. UPDATE: I just saw the Starbucks update on the Facebook group, and it says this “The last day of the 12days of Wishing is a really good deal: Get 1lb of Christmas Blend for $7.95US & 25% off in Canada”

So if it sells for $17.95 in Canada, that would make it.. $4.48 off…. so it would be like $13.47. Would of been nice to have it for $7.95. 🙁 Sorry guys, I got a little too excited about this one, it’s still a savings but not as good as the US is getting.
