Jersey Shore. Total crap right? But if it was truly that bad ratings would be so low that the show would of been cancelled after the first few shows. So someone has to be watching it. I don’t think that people like to admit that they are fans of the show. How many people have admitted to you that Jershey Shore is always on their Tivo list? I can honestly say I’ve never sat down with the intent to watch the show. In fact, up until recently I had never seen it.
Realistically I should have put two and two together a long time ago. I’d be watching TMZ and asking who these people were and my husband would always fill me in. Yet, oddly enough he’d never seen the show either. The other night I came out of the shower and caught him. In all his glory there he was sitting watching Jershey Shore. On purpose. The horror! He was and is in fact a closet fan of Jersey Shore and had always tried to watch it when I was not around. I still love the guy, but now I wonder about him. Are you a closet Jersey Shore fan?

I’m so happy that the Suzy Shier at the mall 5 minutes away from me is having a shopping party! I already sent in my RSVP, seeing as the event sponsors include John Frieda, Goody, Trade Secrets, and Yves Rocher. The swag bags should be really awesome! Of course, the 40% off regular price merchandise is pretty sweet too, and an extra 10% from my SPC. Woot!

Hey ladies we all need new shoes sometimes right?!

American Apparel has always been known for their borderline porn ads, featuring employees and models who are handpicked by founder, Dov Charney and his associates.
And it’s no secret that Charney, who’s actually Canadian, has had several sexual harassment suits filed against him by former employees. Click here if you don’t believe me.
So when it hit the interwebs, AA’s new, topless swimwear campaign barely made a splash. Maybe everyone, including the hipsters, are already desensitised? I know I don’t even bat an eye anymore!
I showed the ad to a friend of mine to gauge her reaction. She seemed unfazed and mentioned that she was referred to the store when she was looking for a pair of lace leggings. However, remembering an article that she read about the company (and its owner) made her rethink her options of where she would ultimately make her purchase.
So does knowing this information about the owner or the controversial ads themselves deter or encourage you to shop at American Apparel? Do you find ads like the one above sexy, exploitation, or just smart marketing?

February 26th Eddie Bauer stores, outlets and website are offering 30% off the ENTIRE collection. They have some wonderful classic pieces that never go out of style, so definitely check this one out!

Thanks couponlady

Shopping here bores me to tears! I actually never buy anything at the mall ’cause it’s expensive, poor quality, and there is really no selection.
If you want something “different”, you either hafta pay through the nose or scour through the racks at the thrift store. I do + can only afford the latter option.
So where do the fashion conscious/working gals with moderate budgets shop? H&M (okay, but not the best quality), Forever 21 (yes, even for the 30+ crowd, again fairly bad quality), or Winners (which requires patience to go through the racks). And forget about shoe shopping ’cause that’s particular abysmal!
And since the majority of the female population shop at these stores, I find everyone starts looking alike. There is very little individuality on the streets…in the ‘burbs! Downtowners aren’t quite off the hook either. 😉
So as this is the current state of affairs, I do do the occasional online binge – especially when it involves sales + free shipping!
Recently, I visited Asos.com to find out that they provide free delivery worldwide which is definitely a plus for deprived Canadians! NO MINIMUM SPENDING REQUIRED. It’s a UK site, so styles are slightly more edgy. (I hate the word “trendy”, btw.) Huge selection of clothing, including accessories, purses, beauty, and men!
Decent prices, deals to be found in clearance section. Prices are listed in £, so be sure to use a currency conversion site before you checkout!
On and offline, where do you do your shopping for clothes+shoes?
P.S. I sure hope the duties aren’t a killer.
