Today’s main Dell deal is the Creative Labs 30 GB Zen Vision: M MP3 Player Black w/FM Tuner for $279 (regular price $379). A great price for a great mp3 player but I can’t personally imagine myself using anything other than an iPod. But to be fair to this Zen player, it has an FM Tuner (for some unexplainable reason iPods do not have a radio) and this Zen also has a better battery life than a 30Gb iPod Video. When you purchase an iPod you pay a lot of money just for its reputation but with the Zen you’re paying for more features. I would still never spend $279 on a Zen though, but that’s just me.
Some of Dell’s other deals today include:
– Creative Labs 8 GB Zen MicroPhoto MP3 Player – Black – $199
– Philips HN110 Noise Cancelling Foldable Headphones – $39
– Solar Style SC002 Portable Solar Charger for Cell Phones, MP3 Players, Cameras and other Electronics – $39
– Dell 5650 5.1 Speaker System w/ Subwoofer – $59
– DiscGear Selector 100FX 100-Disc – $29
Note that shipping is free.

RadioShack is having a huge sale this Saturday.
RadioShack is having a massive Blowout Sale in order to make room for new models coming in August. They have really stepped up the discounts for Home Audio, Portable Audio, DVD Players/Recorders, phones and other giftables that are coming to the end of line.
The new pricing will be effective this Saturday July 29th. This is the last kick at insane pricing (upto 80%) and they are in the process of launching new assortments in the stores.
I have a PDF file that outlines the item/model, with what the original price was and what they will go down to on Saturday, also a rough number of units that are left in the chain. Good time to buy if you are looking for a new toy or a gift.
Here is the full product list with the discounted prices. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this file.
I’m not sure whether Radio Shack is having the sale or The Source by Circuit City. They are 2 different companies now. I’ll keep you updated if I find out more info.
Update:
– The sale is at Radio Shack not The Source. Their website is radioshackisback.ca
– The sale is in-store.
– They have a limited number of stores. You can find their store locations here.

It’s day 9 folks and today’s deal is a Dell W2607 26″ HD LCD TV for $849. Today’s main deal is by no means spectacular. I do not recommend this deal.
On the other hand one Dell’s other deals today is very exciting! The Xbox 360 Gaming Console Bundle – Includes 2 Wireless Controllers, Project Gotham Racing 3 for $499 is awesome.

Some of Dell’s other deals today include:
– Dell W3706C 37″ HD LCD TV – $1799
– Cable ZEN 6.6 ft (2m) HDMI Digital Audio/Video Cable – $29
– Sanyo VPC-C6 6.0MP Digital Camera & Movie Camcorder – $499
– Philips HTS5500 900W Home Theatre System – $199
Note that shipping is free.

Today’s main deal is an Iomega 320GB 7200RPM USB 2.0 External Hard Drive – Silver Series for $149 plus $20 mail-in rebate, i.e. $129 (regular price $249). This is one sizzling hot deal for that price. This External hard drive is just plug and play: you can easily plug it into your computer’s USB port. You can also carry it around wherever you go (although it is not very small in size of course). It also runs on Macs and PCs.
Update: try it, it might not be sold out
A bunch of other good computer accessories today. If you need anything in particular from this accessory list that’s a good time to buy it.
– Targus CityGear Chicago Backpack and USB Numeric Keypad – Dell-Exclusive Bundle – $39
– Sanyo 5.8-GHz Digital Multi-Handset/Cordless Telephone with CID and Two Handsets – $69
– IOGear USB Optical Calling Mouse (built-in microphone) – $19
– StarTech 4 Port USB 2.0 Mini Hub – $14
– Master Lock Universal Notebook Security Cable – $35
One of these accessories really caught my attention: the IOGear USB Optical Calling Mouse with built-in microphone! Why the hell do they have a mouse with a microphone? Imagine holding a mouse in your hand and speaking into it!

Yeah it just looks bizarre!
Note that shipping is free.

Today DELL is selling its new 2007 20†and 24†widescreen monitors for relatively good prices.
Today’s main deal is the Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP 20″ Widescreen LCD w/Height Adjustable Stand for $399 (regular price $599) and the second deal is the Dell UltraSharp 2407FPW 24″ Widescreen LCD w/Height Adjustable Stand for $769 (regular price $769).
Although $399 is a wonderful price for a 20†widescreen I strongly recommend you keep away from these two widescreen monitors unless you’re using them for some professional task that requires very high resolutions.
The reasons for my discouragement:
1) This 20″ monitor isn’t a true widescreen nor is it a normal screen! it’s just slightly wider than a normal monitor. This can cause Microsoft Windows to look weird or stretched unless you run it at a high resolution (of 1600 x 1200) in which case everything will be too small to read.
2) If you try running this monitor at lower resolutions (which is what most of us prefer) the picture will not look sharp which defys the whole purpose of this monitor.
3) Compared to a 19†this monitor is just slightly taller and about 1†wider. So yes it is larger but it is not large enough to justify the $100 more you’ll spend on it.
So in a nutshell the price is good but unless you’re willing to run your monitor on high resolution and/or spend some time tweaking it don’t bother with today’s main deal.
As for the 24″ monitor, it has a few problems as well. You can find out more about these problems here.
Some of Dell’s other deals today include:
– D-Link DGS-1005D 5-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch – $29
– NEC MultiSync LCD3210 31.5″ LCD Display – $1799
– Metallic Blue Graphire4 6×8 Pen Graphics Tablet – $149
– 48W 6-Cell Seconday Battery (D-Series) – $99
Note that shipping is free.
