RBC Canada Savings Account

Thanks NikyK for posting this RBC Bank  promo in  Canadian Freebies & Samples.

Open an RBC eSavings account and get a free $25 or $50 Visa Gift Card bonus based on your opening balance:

  • $100-$1000: Free $25 Visa Gift Card Bonus
  • $1001+: Free $50 Visa Gift Card Bonus

Open your RBC High Interest eSavings account before May 31, 2009 to take advantage of the above-mentioned special offer. Based on the forum discussion this seems like a very hot deal. To be honest I’m not into bank promos so I’ll let you guys check out the forum discussion which has a lot of details and clear explanation of how to get this promo.

    It’s an expired deal.

    Promotion is no more available.

hi there, i found that, this is only for new customers to get the business not for exisiting clients. then this is not the best deal as candian tire gives 2.5% on their high int. savings with no fees and no charges. this account has fees for every transaction and also they want all your banking chequing account as well. dont think the $50 gift card will be gone in the first month charges.

Read the discussion on the link above for more info. This offer was only sent out to certain people (customers I think) and if you didn’t receive an email than you are not “qualified” to receive the gift card. Oh well!

I called the RBC 1-800 and was told the promo was on until May 29th. It’s pretty simple as a new customer – open an eSavings account – Deposit $100 (will be frozen for three months). $25Visa gift card is send after June 1st, 2009 and may take up to eight weeks. I was told there are no fees to open the account and no fees assicated with using $25Visa gift card. I’ve opened an account on-line and now waiting for a call from my local branch to complete application. Cheers!

Opened the e-savings account and deposit required money to get the $50 visa gift card. It’s now july and still haven’t heard of anything. Talked with my local branch manager, she had no idea what i was talking about. Called RBC customer service, the guy looked through his computer and even called the Visa department and they all had no idea what i was talking about either.

    Sham?

  7. Sandy says:

No. It’s legit. Takes 60-90 days for you to receive your GC in the mail. This was confirmed by my bank rep, and by the CS rep through the phone.

it worked my mom got hers last week and I’m waiting on mine still
