Chapters had this bag on at Christmas for $59 and then it went down to $39!!!
I received it for a Christmas present and it is a lovely bag…two things
though that I would have liked to be different. First…their is NO closure on the top of the bag so you have to be careful that your stuff
doesn’t fall out. Second…their is no lining in the bag and thus all the real leather flecks come off on everything…including books, make-up and hands!!!
Took this bag on a NZ trip and was covered in the black flecks!!!
Still a great bag though for a great price!!!
It is the book bag or the weekender tote? those are different bags. The one in the picture is the book bag.
also, fyi – the book bag has unfinished edges and is unlined. buyer beware!
Yeah, I bought this bag for my mother for $39 at Christmas time. I also thought this was the book bag, and the weekender bag was a bigger zippered bag? The website says other wise though.
The promo/website uses both “book bag” and “weekender tote” which are essentially the same thing, but I think the word “weekender” implies that it is larger than just a “book bag”.
If it was just a “weekender bag”, those are the horizontal zipped bags that are same size as those that you take to the gym.
Aside from the shedding, is there a problem with the dye from the bag running on your things?
I also have the bag that Chapters was selling at Christmas. I’m really happy with it, I don’t use it for books, just as a large shopping bag to carry my essentials and small items. The bag has held up very well, looks great and I enjoy the length of the handles and the fact that there is a small zippered compartment inside that I can keep my phone in.
Saw it at Chapters. Thought it was cheaply made (no closure or liner?) and it did occur to me that since there was no lining, there was a chance your stuff could get covered in bits of suede. Guess I was right. Glad I didn’t purchase.
