I looked at this in store at Chapters and found that the quality is terrible. The inside is unfinished, unpadded, and unlined – just bare leather. I didn’t feel it was worth $40, definitely not worth $50.
I have it …it is a great bag…but the inside is not finished and does shed. It’s great to carry my lunch bag and day timer.
The list on the website says $79.95, (so don’t be surprised) but in any event the coupon allowed more than one bag on discount. Thanks for posting!
@ wavebaby– thanks for the feedback on the shedding. Found the same on a tribe leather bookbag, I ended up hand sewing a linen lining to deal with it.
@ chzplz– the unlined leather is a design choice at Roots. Not for everyone. The ‘on the floor’ assessment was helpful.
um… am i the only one that thinks that bag is ugly?
I’ve had this bag for almost a year now and have used it almost everyday and it has held up to carrying all of my stuff really well.
got this bag from chapters for around 35$, been using it for almost half a year now. Aside from the shedding issue this is a great bag for books!
good quality leather for the price
at first i was skeptical about the black & red combination but the more i use it, the more i love it!
would have got my mom one if i can find it for 35$ again, 50$ is kind of pricey for my standards.
