Shoppers Drug Mart is having another 20x Optimum Points event and it’s on March 10.  In order to get 20x your points you need to spend a minimum of $50 and present the printable coupon at the time of purchase.  This is a great opportunity for anyone that missed the 20x point event on March 6 or for those that want to take advantage again.

Click here for your printable 20x coupon.

Thanks to emmafb and snafuO for this great heads up.

See store for details ®911979 Alberta Ltd. is at the bottom of the pdf. It might work for other locations but it might just be for Alberta stores.

I don’t think this will work for Ontario — as the stores in this province are known as Shoppers Drug Mart, not Pharmaprix.

  3. fire_earth_air says:

I got an email, it’s valid for Ontario as well. Mine says SDM not Pharmaprix

  4. Rad says:

I heard theirs another one coming at the end of the month! 🙂

first i LOVE the pic used, it made me chuckle 😀
second i got one of these emails and i live in ontario so i would think it should be fine, just in case anyone is wondering

  6. CarlyinCanada says:

Thanks! Shopped on Saturday but will again, lol I need more points! 🙂

  7. Justine says:

This is the link from the email I got today-(I’m in ON). It looks the same to me.

the bar code on the one I got (I live in Ontario) is the same as the one in the post above. there’s thread on this and I believe someone posted the ontario version as well for the “just in case” situations. Note also, there’s an instore coupon for Carlton cards: buy 2 save $2, buy 3 save $4. Since I didn’t find a ton of deals at SDM the past weekend, i’m hoping to use photo finishing, greeting cards and a few groceries to take me to $50 and put me closer to bonus redemption points top up! can’t wait!

i just called shoppers optimum. She didn’t really know about this event but she checked it out and said that i could use the coupon (i live in New Brunswick). I asked about it saying Pharmaprix and not SDM and she said it didn’t matter it was the same. So if something happens and it doesn’t work i will just call and they should add the points.

  12. ladybug says:

I called Shoppers as well to check (I’m in Manitoba). The representative told me that the coupon is valid in all provinces, but ONLY if you didn’t catch the March 6th 20X the points day. I told her I did collect points on that day, and she said because of that, I wasn’t eligible to use the coupon. Not sure if that’s across the board … I’m going to go look more closely at the coupon, maybe it already says that.

  13. ladybug says:

You know what, I think you could argue that the coupon doesn’t specify that you have to have missed the last 20X the points day. I might try anyway, since I need another bottle of Lancome Teint Idole Buff 2, which is exactly $50 at SDM in Manitoba anyway.

  14. SDM Question says:

Wondering it there’s a way around the validity concern that ladybug brought up (that if you rec’d 20x the pts on Sat it won’t work): What if you were to take out a new optimum card (in my case my hubby doesn’t have one); collect the points on Wed; transfer the points to your primary account. How long does a transfer take? If pts are awarded by the 18th as the fine print said, you’re golden for bonus redemption.

  15. ladybug says:

That’s pretty smart, I think. My boyfriend doesn’t have one either (crazy! There are still people who don’t collect Optimum points!). I can’t remember how long the turnaround is when you register for a card, since I’ve had one since the dawn of time. Do they give you a number right away for use?

  16. Lilyana's Mommy says:

It’s valid for those in NB also 🙂 I got the email yesterday and it says SDM on it not Pharmaprix.

  17. Pam says:

when you transfer points its usually there right away

  18. mcminsen says:

My other half was able to get a new card immediately by going to the store and completing the registration. He was able to get regular points with it right away but when I tried registering him for the “Tell a Friend” event, it didn’t work. All it took was a call to SDM customer service (1-800-SHOPPERs) and they were able to complete the registration while on the phone to make sure his card was ready for a bonus points deal. And it’s my understanding that points transfers between accounts are effective immediately. 🙂

  19. $avvy$hopper says:

quick question, i was at sdm today and spent $50 for the 20x points. if I go back later today and spend another $50, will I get another 20x points or is it a one shot deal per event?

  20. $avvy$hopper says:

no worrie,s figured it out! one per card

  21. Charlotte says:

Used this in Vancouver today, no problem! Points will be awarded next week, and you can see the coupon was collected on my receipt!

  22. LouLou says:

Just a tip for anyone taking part in these ‘bonus’ events, keep your receipt and keep track of your points. Twice now I have had to phone Shoppers Drug Mart to find out why my points have not been added and they have added it manually. They will need the reference number off of your receipt as well as your Optimum number.
