No, unfortunately you don’t earn points when you spend points.
I just got the e-news letter from SDM today says 20x the Optimum Points on Saturday, Oct 10th. Wow! they have also other promotion that when you spend $10 on BALEA products you’ll get 20X the points either, and that is until tomorrow oct. 09.
I was just wondering, because now i only have 3,330 points, so what if i spend $10 on BALEA tomorrow and spend another $50 on Saturday, will i do get 1,332,000 OPTIMUM POINTS? Wow, that are months free groceries… is that right?

Hmmm… good question. I would’ve said probably not but the fine print doesn’t mention coupons per se.

morganmom2, the 20x promotions excludes the purchase of electronic gift cards. You will just get regular points for gift cards I guess.
Yup, just regular points for a purchase of a SDM giftcard. But you get regular points again when you use it to pay for anything at SDM and racking up those REGULAR points faster gets you “PLUS” status sooner.
See the fine print for the exclusions on the special 20Xpoints day. It would be nice if we could just purchase a SDM giftcard and get 20Xpoints but then we’d bankrupt them and have no more fun! 🙂
– with a $10 gift certificate (the one you got during the week) if you redeem your subtotal must still be above 50 to get 20x. so if you have a 60 subtotal and redeem 10 gift certificate ur new subtotal is 50 which means you get 20x 😉
