The deal of the weekend at Shoppers Drug Mart is for Dining Cards.  If you spend $50 you get a $10 card and if you spend $75 you get a $20 one.  This promotion is running from October 31 to November 2 and gift cards can be redeemed between October 31 and November 23.  The gift card is valid for the following restaurants: Swiss Chalet, Montana’s, Kelsey’s, Harvey’s and Milestones.

This could be a good gift card to use with the Swiss Chalet deals that are out right now.  To check out the Swiss Chalet deals check out Justine’s blog post by clicking here.

Thanks to Melody113 for this heads up.

Does this exclude prescriptions? Is it limited to 1 per household?

      Here’s all the fine print.
Offer valid on the purchase total of eligible products after discounts and redemptions and before taxes. Excludes prescription purchases, products that contain codeine, tobacco products (where applicable), passport photos, stamps, lottery tickets, event tickets, transit tickets and passes, electronic gift cards, Life Experience® packages and pre-paid phone cards. Due to location restrictions we reserve the right to substitute an item of equivalent value. Dining Cards will only be accepted at participating restaurants in Canada. Not to be used in conjunction with any other Shoppers Drug Mart promotions or offers. One Dining Card per transaction per customer. Offer valid Saturday, October 31 to Monday, November 2, 2009. Dining cards can be redeemed from October 31 to November 23, 2009. See cashier for details. ® 911979 Alberta Ltd.

Hm… I wish they would have the bonus redemption days again for the regular items. Last time it was for cosmetics, but I wanted to buy some DS games and umbrellas (random, I know, lol).

I get the sense that there’s a regular bonus redemption day just around the corner. We’re overdue.

This is another game to get your attention to shop. There is no contact information such as telephone number to check in case your cards is not valid. Sew months ago, I had their subway cards that worth nothing. Today, the esso card of $20 did not work. I had it. Do not believe what they tell you.

This is another game to get your attention to shop. There is no contact information such as telephone number to check in case your cards is not valid. Few months ago, I had their subway cards that worth nothing. Today, the Esso card of $20 did not work. I had it. Do not believe what they tell you.

I just tried to use my Esso card on the last day it’s valid and I was told by the Esso manager that Shoppers screwed up and cancelled the cards a day early so I have to call Shoppers and have them fix it. So lame.

  9. mcminsen says:

let’s see now.. on my list of things to avoid at SDM:

    -“Subway Sandwiches” card promos
    -“transferred” coupons that are “non-transferable”
-“buy $75 of cosmetics/fragrances and get 20Xpoints” events if you’re not going to actually buy eligible cosmetics and fragrances
-couponing if I don’t understand it or the cashier doesn’t understand it
    -Esso card promos
    -what next?

  10. Treya says:

I contacted Shoppers about the Gift Card (Esso) screw up and they credited my account with 14,000 pts instead of reissuing another one. They said an employee of theirs had accidentally cancelled the cards a day early.
I’d prefer the points anyway but it was still a huge pain at the time.
Now I’m up to 160,000 pts!! Can’t wait for bonus redemption time!
