Starbucks Canada: $2.50 Any Breakfast Sandwich With A Beverage Purchase (Oct. 4-10, 2011)

starbucks

From Oct. 4-10, 2011 you can get any breakfast sandwich for only $2.50 when you purchase any beverage. Their breakfast sandwiches include Veggie Artisan, Sausage Egg & Cheese, Reduced-Fat Turkey Bacon With Egg Whites, Black Forest Ham Parmesan Frittata & Cheddar, and Bacon Gouda Cheese & Egg Frittata. These all sound good in theory but I just hate that they microwave it because it turns the bread chewy. Do you like Starbucks’ breakfast sandwiches?

i do however enjoy a free beverage on my birthday.

  3. Margaret Crawley says:

    Willing to try it out

  4. C says:

Looks yummy, but still too expensive for breakfast for me! I’ll definitely recreate it with the D’italiano foccacia bread I got for cheap at RCSS 😉

  5. S says:

The breakfast sandwiches are delicious! They don’t microwave them where I get them; They’re actually heated in a very compact and high heat convection oven!

  6. 2jk19 says:

@Krysta Lynne – I usually only enjoy starbucks for my free birthday beverage as well – or I will buy their herbal teas because for a vente, they are only about $2 and change – not bad! Or if I have been given a gift card – otherwise too pricey/fancy for me!

$2.50 is not bad for breakfast (out, on the go), but I don’t think it would fill me up! So I would end up spending more money or eating more anyways!

  7. donny68 says:

They should just stick to coffee, why even bother with this money losing initiative.

  8. Mary says:

    What donny68 said. =)

I am willing to pay for Starbucks drinks because they are good…there’s not really a McDonalds equivalent to my Earl Grey Tea Latte. However, there sure are McMuffins which are cheaper and probably tastier. (I guess that’s subjective, though!)

  9. Tiana says:

Sounds like a good deal! I would rather have a breakfast sandwich from an outlet that specialize on food, not coffee though! Interesting enough also, I read (one, two years ago?) a while back that Starbucks was going to steer away from hot breakfast food as this spoils the coffee experience/smell you do expect in a coffee shop! Not sure what happened to that.

  10. Chantal says:

uh, they don’t microwave them. They put them in their toaster-type oven. It’s nice & crispy here in Victoria, BC. 🙂

  11. IRefuseToPayFullPrice says:

Nope, not nice and crispy here. You can see the microwave on the back counter! 🙂

  12. Laurie says:

When I was in Scotland, we went to Starbucks and they put the breakfast sandwiches in the panini grill… yummy!

  13. Karen says:

It isn’t a microwave… It’s an oven. It’s Starbucks standard. Everyone is given the same machines. If, for some reason, there’s an old store, or a small store, with a diff machine, it would still have instructions in the big manual binder for cleaning, and there’s nothing about microwaves in there. Also, if there were alternate machines, when new food is rolled out there would be alternate instructions for alternate machines… And there’s not. Also, not having microwaves in sbux is a very calculated choice, because it helps baristas avoid having to heat things for customers that were brought from home (and getting slapped with lawsuits because of it). The ovens work on preset temps and selections for different, storebought items, and baristas are directed to never put outside food in them. ALSO, when you work there and take one home at the end of your shift instead of throwing it out, then microwave it at home, the bread isn’t chewy… It’s soggy.

So what , with a special coffee makes it what, say $7.00 for breakfast? SAVE your $$$$ and eat at home.

  15. Lainey says:

Went to Starbucks this morning and ordered a grande decaf latté and a turkey bacon and egg white english muffin sandich. Total came to $7.29 so the sandwich WAS NOT $2.50. I’m in Ottawa

  16. Kim says:

A couple of the breakfast sandwiches are quite yummy actually! Though the turkey bacon one is skimpy on the turkey bacon! I worked for Starbucks up until a year ago and i can say with authority there are NO microwaves. What you see sitting on the back counter is a very high heat convection type oven.
Lainey, bring it to their attention tomorrow and i’ll bet they will comp you a drink or a sandwich. I know i would have and they really should!

  17. Chris says:

I’m in Ottawa as well and just had one for
2.50 centrum location.7.29 is because your drink , remember they ain’t cheap.

  18. Twinmommy says:

Sounds good! I will definitely pick one up tomorrow when I get my Grande tea on the way to work! I agree Starbucks is pricey, but it’s tasty, so once in awhile I think it’s ok to splurge on a beverage there.

  19. teekay says:

I agree with others that Starbucks is expensive; still, when I have an out-of-the blue craving for a breakfast sandwich they are my go to – one of the few places that offers “healthier” options (multi-grain english muffin, egg white, turkey bacon, etc.) and the sandwiches are pretty tasty.

  20. bigphil26 says:

This is only valid with certain coffees not ANY DRINK as their add says.

  21. tudorchick says:

i see what they did there.introduce this “deal” right when they raise their drink prices…

  22. Nat says:

I’ll have to check this out, I’m only a couple of stars away from Gold card status. I like their breakfast wrap.

  23. jen says:

We had $ 2.50 sausage and cheese sandwiches this am – very good – no microwaving – Starbucks packaged it all up so it was still hot when we arrived at work – along with pumpkin spice lattes – fabulous on a beautiful fall day! Might get vegetarian sandwich tomorrow with tea – did you know the same deal is on in US for $ 2. Big line up in the sun for breakfast sandwiches – lot of people in Ontario had the same idea!

  24. Twinmommy says:

I got an Earl Grey tea with the turkey and egg white breakfast sandwich and it was really good. I ate it about 20 minutes after I bought it and it was still warm. My tea and the sandwich came to $5.03. A nice treat, and it has kept me full and not searching for a mid morning snack!

  25. Star Bucko says:

I agree with Twinmommy. It was good. I too got the turkey and egg white breakfast sandwich and it was really good. I had a Yukon (dark roast) tall coffee. Total 4.79 including the Harper Sales Tax (eventually to be vanquished in BC).
