Just checked ottawa/montreal toronto all sold out for 9 or discount

  2. Tanya says:

Ang – I just went on & found 3 different flights for $9, maybe you need to try different dates that may be the problem. Currently, I checked Fri. Sept. 18 & Sun Sept. 20.

  3. phgirly says:

I just found but it crazy the taxes. return for $9 each way comes out to be $115 and change. That is a huge markup. 🙂

  4. Shoegal says:

Yeah. $9 flights and $40 in taxes. Gotta love it!!

  5. itsjustmebub says:

    WHAT?!?!?!?!

oh my goodness thank you SO much, my friend is coming from Montreal in September and was going to drive 6 hours – I’d imagine the gas each way would be WAAAAAAY more than $18!!!

The flights were over $500 just the other day. THanks again!!

  6. So says:

Even at $115 round trip it’s cheaper than VIA.
This is a sweet deal if you can work around the dates.

  7. hawkrave says:

i have never seen any of the cheap prices and even the 39 dollar flight is at 7am

  8. Cheryl says:

I just got a return flight from Toronto to Ottawa for $95 taxes in.
    What a deal!!!!

  9. Tanya says:

Great deal. I think I might be taking a trip soon.

  10. Johnny says:

don’t forget to use the 10% promo code that was posted a few weeks ago. Then the flight comes out to $8.10 instead of $9.00.

  11. Tanya says:

Johnny – do u have a link to that promo code? Do you know if it’s still valid?

  12. Johnny says:

its still valid . I used it this morning.

“This WestJet coupon code WJCIS10 must be claimed no later than 15 July 2009. Valid for return travel until 12 December 2009. Blackout periods [not indicated] apply. Limited to the first 15,000 redeemers. This coupon code is from the Juno awards which was sponsored by WestJet Canada”

  13. godvchaos says:

I was just there no 9$ flights but ther are a few listed for less than $60 for departures from calgary and edmonton.

  14. Scott says:

Total Cost of Flight $115.33 CAD

plus a taxi/bus on at least one side to/from the airport assuming that you can find someone to drive you on this side.

2006 Chevy Cobalt SS 2.4L (not exactly an economy car) is rated at 9.3L/100km highway, but let’s be realistic and call it 11L/100km
Google maps says city centre to city centre Toronto to Montreal is 541 Km.

    So 541km * 11L / 100km = 59.51L used one way
119.02L cus you got to get back.

Gas this morning was 90.3 cents/L, but let’s say it goes up to 99 cents

    That’s 119.02L * $0.99 = $117.83

    Shouldn’t Mass Transit be cheaper?

  15. Scott says:

Sorry, I used the City fuel consumption figure. It’s actually rated at 6.5L/100km, so fuel consumption should actually be lower than what I stated above.

  16. faraz says:

For children ages 2-11 what will be the fare , is it same as adults.

  17. Tanya says:

Just booked mine! Thanks for the extra 10% code Johnny!!

  18. benji says:

    Excellent deal!

I just hope then don’t make a habit of it though. Remember, JetsGo had low “sales” like this too, and remember what happened to them? We can’t afford to lose another carrier!

  19. fundygal says:

As usual, the rest of Canada doesn’t exist for Air Canada.

  20. Sro Ragu says:

“Truth in advertising” says that they should say “$59.50” instead of “$9”. Doesn’t look that great a deal especially given that ViaRail offers a “Kids travel Free” and takes about the same time to reach Montreal if you include the checkin time and the travel to the airport.

  21. Andrea says:

Just tested it out…found lots of 9$ fares, but I agree with Scott. Family of 4 return flight Montreal – Toronto – it would cost me $481. I’m pretty sure it would cost maybe 1/3 – 1/4 of that if we drove. Leaves me lots of spare cash for all the Timmy’s breaks we would take!! But still a great promo if you’re alone and don’t have a car!!

  22. Dotty says:

    Andrea –
I just took a road trip to Montreal from London, Ontario. The total cost for gas was $146 — waaaaay cheaper than flying a family of four. Plus, we got to take some fun road stops. I highly recommend the Big Apple, just off the 401 before you hit Kingston. It has the best apple pies, an animal zoo for the kids, some rides, etc. Can’t find that on an airplane!!

  23. Ann says:

I just took the train last week, the first time in years, and I rather enjoyed it. Of course, traveling by car is much cheaper, as when you get wherever you are going, you have to take a cab, or city bus. We went to Old Quebec City, and the language barrier is terrible as I don’t speak french. We were stuck on the wrong bus for an hour! Next time I go, I’m going to go with someone who speaks french!
