With back to school barely behind us, Halloween costumes and decorations are already out in full force in every store imaginable.  Heck — some already have their Halloween costumes on sale!

Do your kids already have their trick-or-treat plans all set?  What are they planning to go out as this Halloween?  How about you?

My lil guy is going out for the first time this year. He is going to be a monkey. I don’t think I am dressing up as it will be enough for me going door to door being pregnant and all.

My daughter and I looked though a patturn book last weekend. Providing I can get the fabric at a decent price, she’s going to be a flamingo or possible a swan (if white is easier to get then pink)

  3. Kara

My 2 year old is going to be a monkey, as per her request. I bought her a used Old Navy costume on Kijiji.

We are going back to the mall again this year because it is warm and easy.

My little guy is going to be a fireman. Found the cutest spring/fall jacket at goodwill last year that looks like a fireman coat pd 1.99 for it and 1.25 for his fireman hat. Halloween couldn’t be cheaper — paid less then $5 for his costume!

  6. L. Wilson

My youngest is going as a lion. I bought his costume last year when Old Navy crazy reduces the Halloween costumes in November.

My oldest wants to be Perry the Platypus (from Disney’s Phineas and Ferb), so Grandma is making him a costume from the aqua green fun fur I found at Len’s Mill Store for some ridiculously cheap price (I mean… who really needs Aqua green fun fur… other than me)?

My little guy is going out for the first time as Winnie the pooh, got an amazing costume for 5 (bought it last year when I was pregnant at walmart)

My daughter is obsessed with the book paper bag princess, by Robert Munsch
and thats what she wants to be! Getting a lawn paper bag and the orange hair spray from the dollar store!

My youngest son is going as a monkey for the third year in a row. It suits him, monkey is his nickname. My middle son LOVES star wars, and was extatic when we found a Captain Rex costume at wally world. My oldest will be taking the other two out. He will be dressed as a brooding teenager. hehe

Our whole family is going as super heros lol.. My Husband is going to be the Joker, according to him, i am going to be Cat woman and our little guy is dying to be super mario:> We all dress up every year:> I never got to when i was a kid, so i think i’m a little hard core on the over compensation as my house has been completly decorated with kid friendly halloween stuff since the beginning of August!

My one daughter is going as Scooby Doo, we went looking for a dinosaur costume and she seen the scooby doo one it was only $8.00 at once a upon a child. And as for the 20month old well she might be a princess/ect. (have lots as my mom works for the place that makes it), Barbie witch($5.00), or Barbie pirate($5.00)

This year my 4 year old is going as Spiderman. He found a costume, with built in muscles, at Walmart that he fell in love with and asked his Dad for…well I asked his Dad because he chickened out at the last minute. I like to dress up to when I take him out, so I’ll either be a nun or a cat. My husband refuses to dress up so whenever anybody askes him what he’s suppose to be he replies ‘I’m a serial killer. I’m just trying to look normal.’

My 18month old daughter is going as a butterfly! its so cute i got it at childrens place.

  14. Lynn

My 8 year old daughter is going to be a hot dog and my 6 year old son will be a pizza!

My oldest (5-year-old) is going to dress up as Pippi Longstocking. I’m planning on making a jumper from some old jeans and using scrap fabric for patches and use a shirt, knee highs, and shoes that she already has. A stuffed monkey can come along. She already has red hair, so I’ll just braid it and use pipe wires to make them stick out.

The other two haven’t voiced any opinions, so I don’t know what they’re going to be yet.

My daughter will have just turned one, so we are going to visit a couple of the neighbours. I bought her a white winter hat from gymboree with a kitty face/ears on it; I figured I can plunk that on her and find some cozy white pants/a sweater + bought a boa for a tail and voila! Kitty.

My daughter is going as a witch (found at walmart for $9) and my son is going as bear in the big blue house. Found a great deal on Kijiji for only $15

Our 2 yr old will be a Giraffe this year! The costume is adorable (got it at Winner’s for $19.99)

I don’t have kids, but I’ll be dressing up for sure! Right now, I’m trying to convince my partners to dress as Peter Pan & Hook, so I can be Tinkerbell.

My boys will be three this year, and we’re going to dress them up as Superheroes. We’re still trying to decide which two though. I’d love to do a Batman and Robin combination. They are pretty independent little guys and I don’t know if one would like being a sidekick so it may turn out to be two alpha Superheroes like Superman and Batman or even Spiderman. I won’t be dressing up although I do consider it each year ;)

  21. mlongboat

my 2 yr old is gonna be abby cadabby. I made the costume already. my 4 year old wants to be a hula girl but I’m gonna wait on that costume cause she’s bound to change her mind.

  22. julies1949

I seem to have started a tradition of making costumes for my granddaughter– at her request. Last year I made her a fairy costume. Sheis wants to be a nurse this year. I am making her a pair of scrubs. Her Mom is a nurse so she can borrow the stethoscope etc.
Her BFF is going to be a patient.

  23. Karen

Both girls will be princesses… and they’re double duty costumes as we’re having a princess-themed birthday party here this weekend! We only do a little bit of the door-to-door thing while it’s still early and light out, then we come home and they get to treat the kids that come to our door. They love it :)

  24. nrich6

My 3 yr old wants to be a fireman this year. My little 3 month old is undecided… :)
