Maxi Stores to Accept PC Plus Starting September 25th

Maxi

For those in Quebec who were excited to hear that PC Plus was rolled out to No Frills but did not see advertising in the upcoming Maxi flyer, we have good news.

Forum member Panache70 contacted PC member services and they have confirmed that PC Plus will roll out to Quebec’s Maxi/Maxi&Cie stores starting on 25th September.

I am guessing that like No Frills, the roll out will be for personalized offers with very little in the way of flyer/store offers in keeping with their No Frills attitude towards shopping.

No Frills Stores Finally Accepting PC Plus!

no frills

PC Plus is about to become a lot better, especially for those without easy access to a Real Canadian SuperStore.  Starting Friday, No Frills will be accepting PC Plus in all stores – great for price matching and still getting your points.

After a successful test in Eastern provinces, some stores are already accepting cards this week (check your local flyer to see if it is available in your store – there is an advert on the flyer if they do) and all stores will accept your card at the start of the new flyer on Friday.  Hopefully they will have a good bonus offer to introduce the program to No Frills.  I know I will use my card a lot more now I can use it at No Frills and price-match too.

Click here to find stores that participate in PC Plus or to signup.

Target’s National Price Matching Already Over?

Target Price Match

Despite many forum members being told by cashiers that they would be price-matching, a CBC news story and other leaks of the new policy (including people who said they saw the memo in Target stores), it looks like Target’s great new nationwide price-matching policy will not be happening.

CBC posted a clarification today saying “Target Canada has clarified the major policy change on price matching. Starting Tuesday, consumers can present digital flyers only from selected online Canadian retailers and Target will match that price, confirms Lisa Gibson, spokesperson for Target Canada. Those retailers include Walmart.ca, Bestbuy.ca, Futureshop.ca, ToysRUs.ca, BabiesRUs.ca, CanadianTire.ca, Sears.ca and Amazon.ca. Target will also match any other retailers advertising in the local area”

You can however use online flyers or show a price from the website, but it does need to be in stock on the website to get that price.  It is disappointing after the news was widely shared on social media and Target confirmed that the policy would change today without offering an immediate clarification.

Will this change how often you will shop at Target?
