I got an email from Michelle H. who represents AOL Canada. They are launching a new Canadian satellite radio service at no cost. She wants to get our feedback about this service. If you have any suggestions or ideas about it please leave a comment below for Michelle to read. Here is what she said in her email:
So we haven’t officially announced this yet, but I wanted to let you (and your readers) know about the new AOL Radio on aol.ca/radio –check this out… 170+ stations (everything from Indie to TV Tunes to Awesome 80s), no commercials (– ever!), CD-quality sound, streaming 24/7/365, always, always free. This is a Canadian exclusive – in the U.S., you have to pay to get full access to AOL Radio. You can check it out by going to aol.ca/radio (make sure you go to .ca to get the Canadian version).
We’d looove to get your feedback –what do you like? What do you want to see more of? etc.. AOL will be adding new stations all the time, and we’ll be paying close attention to feedback from online communities like SmartCanucks for ideas.
Michelle, I wonder how AOL will make any profit if this service is free and has no commercials?

If you’re a frequent (or even semi-frequent) Second Cup customer don’t miss out on this deal!
Get infinitely many free upsizes of any beverage: Large for price of a medium, medium for price of a small.
How?
If you don’t already have an SPC Card go to spccard.ca and buy one for $10. This card has loads of other good deals and is definitely worth the $10. Once you receive the SPC card in the mail (in a week or so) just show the card whenever you’re at Second Cup and they’ll gladly upsize your drink for free. You can use this Second Cup offer infinitely many times until the SPC card expires in a year.
SPC Cards offers loads of other deals. I’ll post them in another topic soon.

Buy a $25 gift card from any Second Cup in Canada and get a free drink!
What I love about Second cup gift cards is that they’re part of Cara which means that you can use that gift card not only at Second Cup, but also at Swiss Chalet, Harvey’s, Kelsey’s, Montana’s Cookhouse, Milestone’s and of course Second Cup.
So if you’re going to any of the restaurants I mentioned above buy your gift card from Second Cup, take advantage of their free drink offer, and then use that gift card at the restaurant you’re visiting 🙂
Was reading through Digg when I came across an elegant official black theme for Windows XP that was developed by Microsoft but never released to the public.

Sometime after the launch of XP, somewhere in Redmond, someone on the Microsoft design team was in the progress of developing something for Media Center. It was believed to be too powerful for public consumption and forever archived in the servers at 1 Microsoft Way. Now 3 years later, a young hobbit man by the name of W3bbo saw light of this unheard of theme, and traveled far and wide to uncover its mysteries. One theme to find. One theme to upload. One theme to rule them all. read more here
Click here to download the theme
Extract files to “c:\windows\resources\themes\royale noir†and double click on “luna.msstylesâ€. Select “Noir†from color scheme and enjoy 🙂
Update: Khristopher posted a better new Windows XP theme that’s also by Microsoft. You can get it here
