This is a great deal from Cineplex Canada for you and the whole family to enjoy this weekend, and every weekend afterwards where you only have to pay $2.99 for a screening of a Saturday morning movie. General admission tickets at Cineplex are normally $12.99 for adults and for kids they’re $8.99, so by going to this early morning family friendly film you’ll be savings upwards of 80% off the original price (for an adult ticket).
The movies are screened at 11:00am on the Saturday of every month, and if you’re a Scene member you can collect 25 points per screening! There are only a select number of participating theatres, a full list of which you can check out here. Even better about all these savings, is knowing that a portion of the proceeds will go towards Free the Children.
The movies that will be screened each Saturday for the next coming months is also available to be viewed on the website, but here’s a glimpse of what to expect for the next coming weeks:
- January 24th, 2015 at 11:00am- Monster House
- January 31st, 2015 at 11:00am- An American Tale
- February 7th, 2015 at 11:00am- Big Miracle

It’s back at Starbucks Canada! The Starbucks Treat Receipt promo is back and can I just say, it is one of my favourite times of year at Starbucks (next to Frappucino Happy Hour) as it makes it so that your afternoon grande sized hot or cold beverage is just $3. This deal only really makes sense if you were to get a more extravagant drink for your afternoon treat, i.e. a grande size pike place would not make sense since these are already under $3.
The best way to take advantage of this offer from Starbucks, is to go in the morning and grab the cheapest menu item you can find (the oat bars are usually around a dollar, and would cover your breakfast as well) or even a short medium-roast, which is also around a dollar (depending upon the taxes in your province). Keep your receipt from the morning, before 11:30am, and then bring it in again in the afternoon after 2pm and order the biggest and best drink you can find on the menu.
My recommendations include, a solo, grande, extra-hot, Tazo Chai latte (the solo adds an extra shot of espresso to the drink, which is usually an extra $0.60 but will be nixed as all grande size beverages are $3 standard). Or, if you’re brave enough to sip on something cold, then you could really make your money back by ordering a grande size frappucino, which are normally the bigger ticket items at Starbucks.
The treat receipt offer at Starbucks is only on for a limited time, so take advantage while you can!

Dairy Queen Canada will be having their annual customer appreciation day in the next coming weeks, and depending on your local store, it will fall on either Wednesday, January 21st or on Saturday, January 24th. Though they are yet to update the Canadian site with the participating locations, if you call your nearest Dairy Queen location they will have probably been given the dates for their store to confirm when and if they will be part of the promotion.
You can use your 50% off customer appreciation discount on almost anything in-store, including both hot and cold treats, though I know I personally would go for their current running promotional Blizzard of the Month: The Birthday Cake Oreo Blizzard.

- sale and clearance items
Considering the wide selection of crafts and home decor products that Fabricland offers, these exclusions are not even slightly limiting as to what you can buy. Personally, with the new year upon us, I thought it would be a good idea to head over to Fabricland to check out their selection of home organization and storage merchandise-since it will be between 50%-75% off.
And though Fabricland isn’t including yarn in their weekend sale, you could still pick up other home fashion related supplies, or any craft materials for that matter. For a full list of the craft materials you can find at Fabricland, click here.
