“Astroboy” originally a Japanese franchise, is now a new animated 3D movie featuring the voices of Freddie Highmore, Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Charlize Theron, Eugene Levy, Matt Lucas, Bill Nighy, Donald Sutherland and Nicolas Cage. It is about “a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist, Dr. Tenma in the image of the son he had lost. Unable to fulfill the grieving man’s expectations, our hero embarks on a journey in search of acceptance, becoming part of a group of rowdy kids led by a girl named Cora, experiencing betrayal, and a netherworld of robot gladiators led by the greedy ring master, Ham Egg, before he returns to save Metro City and reconcile with the father who had rejected him.”
The movie is set to come out on Oct 23 in the US/Canada, but you can see a FREE screening of the film on Oct 17!
You do have to be registered with gofobo to request the passes for the screenings. All the toronto passes are gone. You need an RSVP code. Anyone who has one and doesn’t need it my son and hubby would love to go. Astroboy was our favourite show as kids!!!
Of course, no love for New Brunswick. Astroboy was one of the first cartoons I remember watching as a kid in the early 80’s, can’t wait to see it.
No Winnipeg passes 🙁
RSVP code?
Toronto is sold out – anyone who has an RSVP code and does not want to go – my kids would love to go. Thank you.
I just got the free passes for ottawa by signing up first.
What is the code for Ottawa?
I got free passes for the Calgary screening, just go to gofobo and register. Once you’re all registered, click on the screenings and it should come up, no code necessary.
There are Winnipeg passess still available. Just register. It says you need an RSVP but leave it blank and it still works!!
Thanks hockeyfanatic76 I got my passes. But I can’t go since I work that day so i’ll give them to a friend.
Thanks so much! Hubby is so excited!
Call me anal, but Eglington is actually spelled Eglinton. It surprises me that quite a lot of people misspell Eglinton with the extra g as I found out not too long ago on a thread on Chowhound Toronto.
Anyways, I loved Astroboy too when it used to air in the ’80s.
Aw, toronto passes are out 🙁 wanted to see it with my nephew as a birthday gift
Edmonton’s out now too. Looks like a high-demand movie.
Awesome! I remember watching this evening morning before going to elementary school back in the 80s. Got my 2 free passes for Halifax!
ILoveSmartCanucks, I wrote that at like 230 in the morning, so sorry for the spelling errors. It has been fixed just for you. 😉
Looks like fun. I got my passes, thank you!
calgary sold out too.
Thanks made note of the sold out shows.
Hi Justine,

I don’t know why people are asking for RSVP codes? I got my passes without putting anything in that spot.
