Loblaws Canada has issued a recall on spaghetti sauce made in-store due to the risk of glass contamination. The product in question was made and sold at Loblaws Longueuil, 1150 rue King-George in Longueuil, Quebec. So far there have been no injuries reported, and Loblaws is voluntarily recalling the product and is removing it from their store shelves. Currently the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products in the future.
The products in question are:
- Loblaws (store-made) Spaghetti Sauce 500 ml. Best before 28.JN2015. (UPC 0273305 804998)
- Loblaws (store-made) Spaghetti Sauce 1L. Best before 28.JN2015. (UPC 0273304 307995)
- Loblaws (store-made) Spaghetti Sauce 1.5L. Best before 28.JN2015. (UPC 0273303 010995)
If you have bought spaghetti sauce from the Longueuil Loblaws in question, you are advised to not eat the product and to either throw it out, or return it to Loblaws for a full refund.
