Microwavable Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

When I was little this was one of my favourite summer vacay treats.  They are so easy to make and the best part is you don’t have to turn on the oven to make them.

All you need  is cake mix (eggs, oil, water) icing and ice cream cones.

Prepare the cake mix as per instructions on box

Fill cones about 1/2 way full with the cake batter

Arrange in a microwavable dish (flat bottom cones work better)

Microwave for 2-3 minutes checking halfway

Decorate and apply icing as you wish

Enjoy!

Let me know how yours turn out.

This looks harder than it is to make. Thanks for the great idea.

I have made these for decades – don’t think I would attempt them in the microwave, though, since they turn out great in the oven and you can do two dozen at a time in it.
What sort of texture difference does nuking them make?

    This is so cool!
But since its in the microwave, dont the cones get soggy? There’s moisture after all.

@Natalka, how many minutes do you put it in for if its in the oven?
