Most Touching Speech at Michael Jackson’s Memorial

Although I was personally very saddened by the death of Michael Jackson, I’ve avoided posting about this unfortunate event on the SmartCanucks blog since I think the media has more than saturated us with this. However, I was very touched by one speech in yesterday’s memorial. Michael’s daughter’s  words made me sad, but the tribute that touched my heart the most was Brooke shields’:

I totally agree with you – her words were heartfelt, and it was obvious they had a deep bond. I was very moved by what she said, and her show of emotion.

That was a very touching tribute by Brooke Shields. I have been terribly saddened by MJ’s death. He was an extremely talented man. I wish the media would leave his family alone now.

I agree. The entire memorial was so moving. I’m very saddened and still shocked by Michael’s passing. He led an amazing yet sadly troubled life (at least the last few years). Brook Sheilds’ had such a great speech. Also the person who said “Rest in Peace Michael, they can’t hurt you anymore”, summed up alot just in that sentence. It’s sad it took death for the world to unit for love for MJ. I wish he could have realized how many people supported him while he was still alive. I hope for peace for his family, especially his young children. 🙁

I also felt like it was the most touching. I think she was realy one of the only ones that showed us that he was a REAL person, with REAL feelings and had a REAL life beyond what we saw on stage and beyond all the headlines. I am thankful to her for showing us that side.

Magic also showed us a little of that side.

I was a huge Michael Jackson fan as a child possessing all the items I could with his logo. I knew all his dance moves. I think I still know them, I just might not be able to execute them very well now. I remember rushing home after school so I could catch his videos on Video Hits.

I am saddened that we never got to see his come back, however I am happy that he is rid of all that made him unhappy and insecure. The truth of the matter is that he never really knew just how much people loved him. He led such a tragic life.

    RIP Michael Jackson.

I thought that what the family friend said to his children was perfect

“I want to say to Michael’s children, there wasn’t nothing strange about your daddy, it was strange what your daddy had to deal with”

I loved his music and him and I wish he could have seen the outpouring of love from his fans over him.

Why must someone be gone for them to be fully appreciated?

  9. Sharon says:

ALthough I agree that the speeches and memorial were a fitting tribute, I do not see wat they have to do with coupons, saving money, or being a smart canuck.

  10. Sharon says:

    Word up Sharon!!

  11. Peter says:

I loved MJ and I don’t agree with Sharon’s insenitive comments.

  12. Tati says:

I think Sharon speaks the truth, let’s focus here people, go to People.com, or TMZ.com if you want to discuss his memorial, I want deals so I can save enough for a flat screen TV, couch, and refrigerator like the coupon lady!
