Mother Brings Baby Back to Life With Cuddling

baby

I came across this article on the Yahoo Canada website, and I don’t know if it’s because I recently had a baby or what, but the article just made me all teary. It’s about a baby in Australia who was born prematurely and pronounced dead by the doctors, but was revived to life after being cuddled by his mother.

    It’s amazing, isn’t it? A mother’s touch!

  2. TurtleGirl says:

    Very Touching Story 🙂

  3. kdespati says:

What a wonderful and touching story

  4. Lynn says:

God works it’s wonders in mysterious ways: A Mother’s touch (kangaroo style)!! Thank you for posting! I think I’m going to go hug my children now!

  5. Elizabeth Blaze says:

That is a heartwarming story. It’s always bothered me to see little preemies in intensive care. They lie there naked with nothing touching them to make them feel warm, loved and secure. I hope this method that’s gaining acceptence in Britan finds its way here.

  6. Angela says:

I was just talking to my husband about this story yesterday when I read it online, I was saying how amazing it is that the touch and love of a mother can bring her child back to her and her husband.

  7. Connie106 says:

My first baby was a premie and “kangaroo cuddle” was a large part of her therapy. She is now thriving terrible two year old…

  8. SarahLilly says:

wow what an unbelievably touching story! 🙂 I bet all the fellow parents on the forum agree

  9. Danam314 says:

Me too, Irefusetopayfullprice. Did you see the video? They had their Midwife video tape the whole cuddle session and you can see this beautiful little baby come to life right before your eyes. I’m getting goosebumps and teary eyed just thinking of it. It’s an absolute miracle.

  10. Natalie says:

I saw this when it first aired on tv – wow! To be given your baby to cuddle as a chance to say goodbye, then to have the baby come back to life! Absolutely and truly a miracle!
Our son was delivered at full-term and healthy (after a very scary emergency) – but both my husband and I did the kangaroo cuddle with him.

  11. grumpy says:

It’s Lazarus syndrome. Wiki it. Pretty cool.

  12. prmetime says:

Its called Kangaroo care and has been known to stabilize babies better than incubators. If you are expecting, please read more about it.

  13. Tiffany says:

This was absolutely beautiful to read. Thanks for sharing. I hadn’t heard of it before. My son was full term but was stressed just after birth and the doctors worked on him to get him to breathe. It was the longest five minutes of my life. I didn’t really get a chance to cuddle him until way later…he went straight to intensive care. It all worked out though …he is turning three in a few days.

  14. Baloo. says:

No offense, or anything. But how exactly does this save me money or offer me deals? As interesting as it is, I’m not sure exactly how this fits in with the rest of the site. Sorry. Just not interested.

  15. dizzyb says:

Baloo, nobody is forcing you to read anything. This site does not exclusively deal with coupons and deals. Note the forums section.
I think this story is indeed worth sharing, as this little guy certainly got a DEAL on a second chance at life! Praise be to God for miracles every day, big and small!

  16. Litesandsirens911 says:

Wow,that is a miracle for sure…thank you for sharing, I hope the babe grows up healthy, he is very much loved~

  17. Baloo. says:

dizzyb, the forum section is right. There are places for this, in the forum section. And if I wanted to read it there, I would go there. As for being front page news… to me its not. Sorry if we just have opposed opinions.

  18. Litesandsirens911 says:

Baloo : so instead of carrying on about your opinion on here, then just leave and don’t bother..this is a public forum, and yes, it does warrant “front page news” to some of us…so who is to say that just because YOU don’t agree, it shouldn’t be?
No one forced you to leave comments or read the article, so as Boo or Sally state, if you have nothing positive to say, just carry on and don’t bother saying anything.
    “Have a good night”

  19. Mission says:

Thank you for sharing this story, totally make my day. And I am not surprised, because us moms can do magic to our kids.

  20. Baloo. says:

Stating my opinion is not “saying nothing positive”. As far as I knew, we are all able to post comments on the subjects that are posted. Varying in agreeing and disagreeing shouldn’t mean someone should not post their opinion. I’m not interested in this kind of subject, on a money saving site. And that’s all I ever said. Like I’ve said from the start, I’m sorry if it isn’t YOUR opinion, but this is what I feel in regards to this post.

  21. L. Wilson says:

I love this and cried my eyes out when I first saw it! (I’m expecting my third right now).

I love that a post that is so tremendously positive and miraculous has to have one negative tool comment something sour… maybe he/she needs a kangaroo cuddle to loosen up!

  22. c. says:

    What a beautiful story!

Lets all send a virtual kangaroo cuddle to Baloo – maybe we can restart his/her heart!

  23. Sally says:

Baloo, I suggest that you go to the archives. Since the start of this site there have been off topic posts. The site owner allows this because he himself is the one who started doing it. If you have a problem with these posts I highly suggest you skip them then because their not going away anytime soon.

  24. Selah says:

Sooo… Baloo is not supposed to comment expressing her/his disagreement with the appropriateness of this post, but all the other comments are just fine commenting expressing THEIR disagreement with her/him? Hypocritical much? If you have a right to express your disagreement with something, then so does everyone else.

And, it may be common practice to have off-topic posts here, but I for one really prefer it when sites stay on-topic.

  25. Munk says:

Yes, a very touching tale of yet another baby being born in an already overpopulated world. Also, horrendously off topic. If you want to talk about the common biological function of birth then feel free to do so on a site where that is it’s intent. I for one don’t wish to see it here.

  26. Ashlynn says:

Wow who died and made some of these posters God ?
Since when not agreeing or not saying something positive was a golden rule ?
I don’t see anything wrong with Baloo having a different opinion or expressing it . Why shouldn’t she ? Because it’s a kid ? Get over it the kid lived.

  27. Saku says:

It’s a heart warming story of how far a mother’s touch can go but some of you posters just ruin it.
Having a different opinion makes you a heartless monster now ?
Let’s send a virtual kangaroo to kick everyone in the face !

Not even one likes to go ” Awwwwwww ” over kids and it’s off topic too.

  28. Sally says:

gosh people stop being so darn nasty, or should I say “person” since its the same person posting the nasty crap…. ummn we can tell its the same ip. It just makes you look like a lunatic.

  29. Tenibac says:

Meh. I’m the mother of a 7-year-old daughter. It was a nice heart-warming story, but if this site is about saving money, then why would this story be on the front page of the site and not in the off-topic forums?

Not everyone wants to look at/read about a story about kids. Even I don’t and as I said, I’m. a. MOM.

Baloo has a right to ask the question she did. The others have a right to disagree with her. However, the dismissive way they disagreed with her is childish and they need to get over themselves.

  30. Valdem says:

Baloo has a point. I agree with Tenibac. The post is better suited to the off topic forums and not on the front page of a money saving website. To people saying no one forced Baloo to comment, no one forced you to respond now did they?

  31. Mal says:

I agree with Tenibac and Valdem

Sally, you need to take a freaking pill and not accuse everyone who has a different opinion than you of being the same person.

  32. Sally says:

Are you kidding me Mal? Quite a few of the ruder posters had the same Ip address. Do you even know what an Ip address is? Maybe you need to take a “smart” pill if you dont. Its pretty easy to tell whos making multiple posts under different names.

I think people are being extremely rude to the Op, not only because shes my friend but because shes a blogger and does a wonderful job blogging the deals each week. I’m grateful shes spent some of her long weekend keeping the blog up. Maybe instead of being so rude and indignant simply skipping by the post would not only be easier but more respectful.

  33. Glen says:

    Nom, nom, nom, nom?

  34. IRefuseToPayFullPrice says:

Thanks Sally 🙂 You are simply awesome! And to the people saying that this post doesn’t belong here, note that it is filed under “Other/Canada”. This site has an actual category for blog posts NOT pertaining to deals, coupons, freebies, etc. The owner of the site allows this and it’s been like that for a long time. You learn something new everyday, right?

And thank you to the posters who appreciated the post for what I truly intended it to be – to share an amazing and heartwarming story.

  35. sasser says:

    that’s so amazing!

  36. bia says:

this is simply just a touching story to lift up the spirits of those who read it… and smartcanucks is not solely dedicated to frugal shopping! you will find hundreds of so-called “unrelated” posts that inspire and uplift others… it’s not always about finding the best deal or saving money. if this certain post does not pertain to you, well so be it, you can leave your opinion but there’s absolutely no need to be rude. i was certainly touched by this and it ended my day on an extremely positive note, so thank you to the OP 🙂

  37. T says:

That’s an amazing story. I for one, hadn’t seen it and I APPRECIATE it being on the site. Maybe Baloo (and all of his/her various incarnations) can take some time out of complaining (and pretending to be other people and reinforcing his complaints) to appreciate the other things in life that bring joy, not just saving money.

  38. Baloo. says:

Haha wow. I haven’t even been online since yesterday afternoon. So no. It hasn’t been me posting anything, thanks. And never once was I rude, just stating my opinion. So maybe you could stop jumping down my throat, yeah?

  39. christine says:

I think a lot of the regular posters here have become friends and so maybe IRefuse just wanted to share this story with them, and as I can see a lot of the readers (including me) have been touched by the story. Baloo, on the other hand, wasn’t really rude. She was just stating an honest opinion so maybe everyone needs to chill out and just wish each other a good day.

  40. Tiffany says:

I’m sure each and every post about saving money doesn’t interest every single reader so what do you do in this case, you SKIP the post and move on to the next one. I don’t think it’s a big deal for people to share non-money saving posts here (as long as it’s the minority of posts and not the majority of posts). I am thankful for having seen this story and I typically don’t visit the forums so again, thanks for sharing. Baloo, I respect your opinion, but don’t see why it bothers you so much to see a non related money saving post. I’ve also seen stories that don’t interest me and I just skip it. No need to read something if you aren’t interested in it.

  41. Tenibac says:

T – I’m sure Baloo is a lovely person, and though I’d love to meet them, I much prefer being ME. Which is to say, NOT. BALOO. Just because someone doesn’t like to read “cute” stories about a baby, doesn’t mean they’re horrid people, and when people post, agreeing with said person, doesn’t mean their minions are actually themselves in disguise. I. repeat: I. AM. NOT. BALOO. I. AM. TENIBAC. Thank you.

  42. budge says:

    great story!!

  43. anonymous says:

Here is my two cents. First, this was a very heart warming article and really reinforces the value of the human touch. Second, to those who are disagreeing on posting this on the main page. Of course you are entitled to your opinion. But why bother to go out of your way to click on an article that you don’t want to look at just to comment on how you don’t want to see the article on the main page? It just feels like you are going out of your way to complain, especially since I believe there is a section for leaving any site-related comments (such as what can be done to improve the site.)

    BEWARE THE ZOMBIE BABY!!!!!!!

  45. greenCurry says:

Baloo has yet to be cuddled. Save your trolling for your fishing expeditions.

  46. ccg says:

WOW! that’s amazing ah! I’m pretty sure that posting about this topic on this site shouldn’t be an issue, this site isn’t only about saving money?!

but whatever some people are just miserable!

  47. bex85 says:

I loved the story!! Thank you for posting it IRefuseToPayFullPrice.

Also these are the types of stories I love reading on the blog section. Not everything has too be about deals and coupons! Its a nice change :o)

  48. thecountess says:

This is a great story. The world can never have too many miracles.

Thanks for posting this, IRefuseToPayFullPrice 🙂

  49. ubuntu vps says:

Spot on with this write-up, I actually assume this website wants far more consideration. I’ll in all probability be again to read rather more, thanks for that info.

  50. rocking says:

This is the correct blog for anybody who wants to search out out about this topic. You notice a lot its nearly arduous to argue with you (not that I really would need…HaHa). You positively put a brand new spin on a subject thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just nice!
