Hope new card comes soon. Payment processed on July 1st.

  2. Lily says:

Some outlet stores were like “Sorry the SPC card doesn’t work on sale items.”
I’m keeping my little booklet and showing it to them next time they say anything. 😀

Sucks they removed a few good things, but oh well.

  3. spevia says:

I got the new card in the mail with a great surprise… i only ordered one card but was sent 2 (they must have been stuck together) as well as the 2 promotion gift cards. And have already in one day made back the 8.50 that it cost me.

  4. cheapskate101 says:

oooo your lucky!!! 2 cards! wowee

  5. leslie says:

Is it required that one be a student to use it or can anyone use it (especially since one must pay for it)?

  6. waterwings says:

Yes I would be interested to know if you can get this card if you are not a student.

  7. snoah says:

If you order LouLou magazine you get a VIP SPC card which can be used by non-students – that is the one I am waiting for.

  8. C says:

Spevia must have gotten mine, as we ordered 2 to save on shipping and only got 1 🙁

  9. marie says:

how or where do u get this card in ontario?

  10. Adela says:

marie, you can get this card ordered at spccard.ca or at a retail store such as Foot Locker.

Okay, I just got back from the mall. Urban Planet still won’t take 10% off sale prices. I even had the booklet with me, but the man said that it’s a misprint. I mean a MISPRINT? That can’t be. Just know that I accepted the top as sale price since I won’t be shopping at Urban Planet store anymore at Dufferin Mall. MAYBE if regular but I’m fed up with that store, they can’t seem to understand.

I was thinking if there’s a way to contact SPC to list what happened.

Urban Planet said 10% off REGULAR price only! But the booklet said 10% off regular and sale prices! They sound like a ripoff. Thankfully I bought only one (top) for $5.00 sale plus taxes but still disappointed.

Garage at Dufferin Mall so wonderful as well as The Source and Bentley!

I’ve saved $12.01 in 2 days since the new SPC. But still note that I refuse to go to Urban Planet again (NAYBE regular but no promises.

My friend, Alicia, also said Carlton Cards said NO SPC, the woman said NO, yet they had SPC shown in the store when she went to buy Father’s Day card back then (with now expired one), she just went to Pizza Pizza but Pizza Pizza said NO SPC yet we’re all in Ontario!

  11. cheapskate101 says:

If anyone is interested, i saw the SPC at multiple shoppers drug mart locations in ontario.

  12. Adela says:

So that people know, Culture Craze store still does accept SPC!

I went to the store to check out nose studs. The woman who works there said yes, they do still accept SPC so that’s even good! Thought I’d spread the word.

I went to one at Dufferin Mall in Toronto.

  13. Camy says:

How do you get the card?

  14. Adela says:

Camy, you can get the card at http://www.spccard.ca/ or at one of the retail stores such as if you spend $50 at Aerospostale (sp?) you can get it free or get at Foot Locker, SDM.

  15. A says:

From my understanding, you’re suppose to get a booklet with all the participating stores right? Do you get that in store, say at SDM? I’m hoping to get one today :)!

  16. Adela says:

Yes, it should come with the booklet! You’ll have to register your card after purchase.

  17. FunkyMunky says:

ah bummer, 2nd cup removed from the list? it aaaaaaaaalways was one of the participating places 🙁

  18. Ronnn says:

Sigh, I just heard about SPC and was going to get it for the great Greyhound offer since I live in Kitchener and need to take it a lot to go to Toronto/Hamilton, but now that they taken that off, I just might not get a card this year

  19. carol says:

I never heard of the spc card before, and I am excited to get one.

  20. Marcy says:

I’ve had the SPC card for 3 years now while being an adult student. I just keep my student card with me. I’m no longer full time, having graduated that course but as I am still enrolled in continuing education courses I’m going to continue using the card.

You won’t believe what you can save at Zellers when food items go on sale or stuff is on clearance.
Add the 15% off at Payless and 15% at First choice haircutters alone and I’ve saved over $300 a year consistently.
Oh and the $10 off at Sport Check is a big help when you buy a bicycle!

  21. nio` says:

    i love my momy!

  22. cheapskate101 says:

    uhmmmm ok LOL thats good

  23. Lynn says:

That’s weird, because at Pizza Pizza when I had the 08/09 card, they also accepted it for a purchase of a slice and get a free drink. But at Suzy Shier I couldn’t use it on sale items and nor at Urban Planet.

I must’ve saved at least $20 with my SPC 😀

  24. mommaC says:

Jean Machine refuses to honor the SPC card for purchases under $100.00. Unbelievable!! That’s false advertising. These stores that give the consumer a hard time when trying to use the SPC card as advertised should be penalized. At the very least not allowed to participate in SPC the following year. It’s a scam. get the customer in with SPC advertising and rip them off at the cash register.

  25. mommaC says:

Urban Planet gave us a hard time when my 7th grader and myself were trying to buy a regular priced top. The clerk insisted on seeing student id if we wanted to use the card. Well 7th graders don’t have student id. My daughter is a small 12 year old so I pointed out the obvious. Then the clerk indicated that since I was paying for the purchase and not my daughter, that I would have show student ID!!!! What 12 year old doesn’t have her mother paying for purchases when they’re out shopping together?! The attitude was awful, head office should instruct all their stores that they must honor the card.
Mind you many stores are wonderful, no questions asked, Ardene, Garage, Stitches all gave us the discount when the SPC card was presented, even though I (mom) was paying for the purchases with my credit card.

  26. SLH says:

I got my card for filing my taxes with H&R Block. I got a discount on my taxes as well as a free SPC card. They also sent me a 09/10 card at no additional charge!

  27. SLH says:

Although I can’t register my new one cause the website doesn’t work.

  28. sarah says:

hey, do you HAVE TO register your card at the website….I hate giving out my number and address on the web.

Wondering if it is a necessity, because it says you MUST register your card in the booklet, but the lady an urban behavior swiped the card and gave me a discount without registering…

  29. Abby says:

I’m wondering the same thing as Sarah. Also, if you do give them their address, do they use it to send you info about deals cuz I don’t like having stuff always come in the mail =S

  30. Al_proudownerofspc says:

You don need to register your spc card, all it does is ….GIVE YOU MORE SPECIAL OFFERS!!! You can just click the button that dosen’t mail you stuff and other junk. Another thing that kinda sucks there are no electronic stores except for the crappy source by circuit city(which already is pretty expensive and you need the card to lower down the price to level of other stores!)They should have more video game stores STUDENTS buy it and STUDENTS play video games.Dont you agree with me??

  31. rebbie says:

I’m super upset that they removed Guess from the SPC program!!

And yup, I’ve encountered many stores who fail to give discounts even though their store is listed on the program… what I suggest is to keep the SPC booklet with you wherever you shop and SHOW them when they challenge you. Happy shopping!!

  32. mirta payes says:

thank you so much, vip spc card is great.

  33. sara says:

It is not free for retailers to participate with the SPC card. It costs them a pretty penny. If the retailer is not willing to honor the card as indicated, you should contact both the retailers head office and SPC to advise them.

  34. I’m answering the person who blogged a couple weeks ago about CheapJailCalls.com. I used their service a week ago and the great part about them is that if you have problem a real live person actually answers the phone to help you!

  35. Darren says:

We are working on a business plan to offer a card that is similiar in nature but the retail store must agree to honour the card prior to advertising a discount or the logo. Our card is also trying to leverage discounts on sales items too.
What would you like to see in card benefits??

  36. website says:

I have been seeking seeking about for this kind of data. Will you publish some more in potential?

  37. sgoodkin says:

I never heard of the spc card before, and I am excited to get one.
