Simpsons’ Kwik-E-Mart in Canada!

7-Eleven turned 12 of its stores into the Simpsons’ Kwik-E-Marts. 11 of these are in the US and the store locations are mentioned on 7-Eleven’s website. The remaining store is in Canada :-). I tried finding out where that Canadian Kwik-E-Mart is located but this info isn’t mentioned anywhere online. I’m pretty sure it’s not Kingston :P. I’m guessing it’s in Toronto “centre of the universe” but you never know.

Any ideas where that Kwik-E-Mart is in Canada? I’d love to visit that store!

Here are a few pics of one of the US Kwik-E-Marts:

McDonald’s Mondays: Why Sports Figures Aren’t Actors

Other / Canada

With yesterday being Canada Day and all, I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our great nation than with a McDonald’s post featuring the greats of our great national pastime. Unfortunately, they haven’t made any MickeyD’s ads about curling or lacrosse, so we’ve had to stick with boring old hockey. ;)

I think this clip, cute as it may be, serves as a great reminder regarding sports figures and acting. I would’ve liked to think we learned our lesson after Space Jam, but not a year goes by where we don’t see some charisma-less hack toss a football for Coke or hit a home run for Wendy’s.

That being said, there are a few sports stars who seem more than capable of making the transition. Was anyone else surprised at how much fun it was when Peyton Manning hosted SNL a few months back?

McDonald’s Mondays is a weekly series of posts written by our own Jim Squires that initially appears on his pop culture blog fjetsam.com.

McDonald’s Mondays: Will It Blend?

I LOVE the web show “Will it Blend?” In case you’re not familiar with the concept (and really, doesn’t the title say it all?) Will it Blend is an actual promotional video series for the Blendtec series of blenders. In it, they blend everything from tiki torches and garden hoses to chicken soup and iPods. There’s nothing a Blendtec can’t blend!

So when I noticed that they’d posted an episode in which they blend a Big Mac Extra Value Meal, I couldn’t help but take this opportunity to share the wonderful world of “Will It Blend?” with you.

You can check out all of their videos, as well as find links to buy their blenders, right here at willitblend.com.
