I picked up my online order today and there was an insert with some new bonus codes, so I knew I had to share with Sc! These codes are valid for online and catalogue phone orders, valid from March 1- April 4 2010.
- $10 off $100 “941612124”
- $20 off $200 “941612133”
- $50 off $500 “941612611”
Hopefully these will help make your purchases a bit cheaper. I love the $50 off one, its great if your buying a new appliance. Even if you go into the Sears Appliance store they’ll usually drop that coupons worth off your total to “price match.”

If you are a canadian student or teacher, you can get 15% off anything at Banana Republic. Just show your ID and you can get the discount, this includes sale and clearance items as well. This sale has been on since forever I think, but in case someone doesn’t know, I thought I would post this, nice perk I think.

For all Tim Hortons fans out there, get a Free $10 Tim Hortons GC when you spend $50 or more at Shoppers Drug Mart on Saturday, March 13 til Sunday, March 14, 2010. Usual exceptions like prescriptions, lottery, tobacco, gift cards, etc. apply.
If you’re not interested in the Tim’s GC and are looking to build up Optimum Points instead, visit SDM from Monday, March 15 til Friday, March 19, 2010 and get 15000 Optimum Bonus Points when you spend $75 or more. Again usual exceptions apply. This is great for those aiming to reach the 40000 or 75000 points level, to take advantage of the Bonus Redemption weekend coming on March 20 – 21, 2010. Check the flyer link below to see what’s on sale and what items to use coupons for. The flyer originates from Nova Scotia, so there may be differences with other provinces. I will be checking SDM’s website and update this post if need be.

Heres a bit of info on what sweetener they use.
Xylitol is a natural sweetener, found in fruits and vegetables. It is even generated by the human body during metabolism. Xylitol was first derived in Finland in the 1900’s by extracting it from birch wood.

So I have to know. Do you eat and enjoy “fake” potatoes? Well there really not fake they are dried and at some point were a real live potato, or at least that is what I’ve been led to believe.
I have to admit I love the potatoes in the Swanson Tv Dinners. Ya totally unhealthy I know, but once a year or so I need those potatoes to breathe. About a year ago a friend was commenting on how the boxed fake potatoes are really good, so I mosied to the store and bought some. Followed the directions. Sat down to eat some with my dinner…. omgoodness! They were the most disgusting tasting thing ever. It tasted like I had just eaten a molotov potato cocktail. In the garbage they went. I really never thought about it again until this past Christmas. My dad’s side of the family decided to do a dinner at a fancy restaurant. It was just over $25 a plate. Ouch. Anxiously waiting for my $25 a plate Christmas dinner I smelt some familiar chemical smell but couldn’t quite place it. Maybe they just cleaned something in the kitchen. Not of my concern. Or so I figure….. Out come the plates, piled with turkey, dressing, gravy, beans, and lumps of white stuff. Surely this can’t be mashed potatoes. What happened to them? Were they beaten beyond recognition? Omgoodness. It’s fake potatoes. You are kidding me right. $25 dollars a plate and I get dried chemical potatoes? I think I was more shocked that this fancy restaurant would find it appropriate to serve us such a thing.
So, Is it just certain brands that taste like paper mache? Do you have a brand that you eat that is good? Any instant potato horror stories? Please do share, I’m always up for a giggle!
For the party poopers, this isn’t a deal I know its an off topic. But I do have a few half boxes of dried potatoes in my cupboard I can send ya 😉

It’s that time again! Shoppers Drug Mart’s highly anticipated Bonus Redemption Weekend is almost upon us. I know a few hundred SC’ers that have been looking forward to this since the last one in November. Lots of coupons will be expiring on March 31, 2010 so this event comes at a fantastic time. I love reading the “Brag” forum after one of these redemption weekends. Free stuff? YES PLEASE!

Bic Soleil razors have been spotted at Walmart for $4! With the $4 Smartsource coupon in this weekend’s paper (March 6 – 7, 2010), you might be lucky enough to get one for free! Some SC’ers have already received their Smartsource flyer and taken advantage of this great freebie. The coupon is also valid on the 4-pack cartridge refill, which is on for $4 as well. It’s not been confirmed that this price is on at all Walmart’s so check yours for a potential razor freebie.
On a personal note, I remember buying this razor at SDM before I started couponing and found SC. It was on sale for $6.99 and I bought one, thinking that it was a good deal. Silly me! Now I know better. Thanks to everyone who make this site so wonderful! It has made such a difference in my family budget!
Thanks to carlyincanada for this post!

Sanyo 19” on for $199.99
They also have discounts on lots of other sizes as well. Don’t forget Dell offers free shipping. Generally when I order from them I receive the product the next day via Purolator.

It’s almost that time of year again when the kids get to take a week off school to enjoy the winter and pack in some exciting activities. A lot of people take this opportunity to go down South for the week, but if you’re like me you need some ideas closer to home that wont break the bank.
That being said there are a lot of activities going on in most communities that can get your family active and out of the house. Here are some of the activities I found:
1. YMCA March Break Day Camps-check your local YMCA because most of them offer day camps throughout the march break that have fun activities for kids. It’s getting them active and it’s a chance to meet new people.
2. Local Libraries offer a ton of activities for kids all year round and even more activities during the March Break. A lot of the activities provided by your local library are free and are worth checking out!
3. Check your local Community Center for events during the break. Most offer more public swimming, skating or drop in times for team sports. It’s a great way to stay active this March break.
4. Volunteer in your community. It’s a rewarding experience to help someone out and there are tons of places you can volunteer your time with your family this March Break.
For more great things to do with your family this March Break check your city’s local website.
If you have any additional ideas please share them so everyone can take advantage of their March Break.
*Bumped to the top because its March break
