Remember the very successful Cash for Clunkers Program incentive in the US, where americans were offered $4,500 for their beaters? General Motors announced this past Wednesday that they are now offering this program to Canadian customers. This is a great opportunity to retire an old vehicle and save some money on a new one!

GM’s Cash for Clunkers program provides qualified customers who are accepted into the Federal Government’s “Retire Your Ride” program, with a rebate of $500, $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 depending on their choice of GM vehicle. The GM rebate is used towards the purchase or finance of an eligible 2009 or 2010 GM vehicle and is in addition to the incentives available through “Retire Your Ride”, including a $300 reward. To qualify for GM’s Cash for Clunkers program, the retiring vehicle must be 1995 model year or older, in running condition, registered and properly insured for the last six months (12 months in B.C.).

As many of you know, I have been collecting stuff using coupons to make up shelter packs for the local women’s shelter in time for Thanksgiving.

Well, today, I finally finished them, as I picked up the last of the products I needed at Wal-mart’s Anniversary sale. I made 12 in all and I couldn’t have done this alone, as I’ve got a little help from my SC’r friends who have donated coupons towards my shelter stash. Thanks all

I called the shelter to let them know I will be deliverying them tomorrow and they were pleased to hear of my donation.
