The pictured bibs above that were sold at Dollarama have been recalled because “…the bibs’ lining contains a phthalate, specifically DEHP (Di(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate), which exceeds the allowable limit.

Studies suggest that certain phthalates, including DEHP, may cause reproductive and developmental abnormalities in young children when soft vinyl products containing phthalates are sucked or chewed for extended periods.

Neither Health Canada nor Dollarama has received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of these bibs.”

On Saturday February 25th they will also be hosting a Beyblade Tournament. Westjet announced today that they will launch a small regional fleet by the end of 2013.

WestJet confirmed Wednesday it will launch a low-fare, no frills regional airline, intensifying competition in smaller domestic markets with rival Air Canada (TSX:AC.B) for business and leisure class travellers.

“It’s the next logical step in WestJet’s evolution,” president and CEO Gregg Saretsky said on a conference call Wednesday.

I’m so close to ordering my sons big wheel i can already smell the rubber burning.

Usually I don’t go to Metro for anything but hunting coupons and occasionally Olymel chicken although I’ve gotten their meal deals before they aren’t bad for the price in my experiences.

@MichaelsStores will be holding more Valentines crafting classes this weekend and next. Tomorrow from 1-2 pm your kids can make and decorate a foam mailbox for all their Valentines cards when you purchase a foam or craft mailbox. From 2-3 pm the free event will be taking place where your kids can a Valentines card. There’s a new way to rack up the Shoppers Optimum points without having to get another credit card.  Pretty exciting!  Starting March 17, 2012, RBC will be offering a Shoppers Optimum debit card that will allow you to earn Optimum Points when you shop with it.  Here are the key features of the new bank account:

• Collect Shoppers Optimum points at Shoppers Drug Mart and other retailers – allows clients to use their RBC Shoppers Optimum banking account and debit card to collect Shoppers Optimum points.

If you’re like me you’ll be happy to know Real Canadian Superstore has extended their Price Promise here in Ontario. No details as to when it is ending but my fingers are crossed that they’ll make it permanent.

Here is all the fine print:

I’d have to say I like price matching best at No Frills but our store is fairly small and that limits selection. Before the Price Promise if No Frills didn’t carry something I needed to price match, I used to end up going way out in the boonies to Walmart. Most of the time the shelves were cleared by the time I got there. Last month I loved going in to the Superstore  during one of their tax-free weekends or on Tuesday and using the Price Promise along with 10% student discount.
