TTC Introducing 2-Hour Transfers in August


Toronto Transit Commission, TTC, announced that it’s introducing two-hour transfers next month! According to the TTC’s Executive Director of Corporate & Customer Communications Brad Ross, the new transfers will be effective August 26 2018 for PRESTO card users only.

Over the last three years, people across the city have repeatedly made it clear to me that making it easier to get around the city is one of the most important issues they expect me to tackle as mayor of Toronto,” said Mayor John Tory in January. “It is why year over year we make unprecedented investments in the TTC to improve service for millions of daily riders.


Tim Hortons Canada Launching Breakfast Anytime All Day!


Great news! On Wednesday July 25 2018, Tim Hortons Canada will launch Breakfast Anytime, Any Tims: offering breakfast menu items any time at participating Tim Hortons restaurants nationwide. This expanded menu offering showcases Tim Hortons dedication to continually improve the guest experience.

Tim Hortons first piloted Breakfast Anytime in several Ontario locations earlier this year – a decision motivated by increased guest demand for the all-day menu offering. Following positive feedback from restaurant owners and guests, Tim Hortons is offering Breakfast Anytime beginning this week. The menu will feature guest’s favourite breakfast items formerly only available until Noon, including the Classic Hot Breakfast Sandwich on a Biscuit or English Muffin, Golden Hash Browns and more.

We know how busy our guests are and we are dedicated to always offering them convenience and quality whether it’s 6am or 6pm,” says Ricardo Azevedo, Chief Sales Officer, Tim Hortons. “Breakfast Anytime is all about delivering our guests their favourite breakfast items at any time in communities across Canada.

RECALL: Pepperidge Farm brand Goldfish Crackers recalled due to Salmonella


The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has said that Campbell Company of Canada is recalling Pepperidge Farm brand Goldfish Flavour Blasted Xtreme Cheddar Crackers from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products described below.

Check to see if you have recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled product from the marketplace.


Costco Canada Launches Online Grocery Shopping Delivery + Grand Opening of NEW Toronto Location on July 24


Costco Canada has launched online grocery delivery! Costco members in Southern Ontario can now get groceries delivered directly to their doorsteps. “We’ve watched our colleagues in the U.S. enjoy success from their Costco Grocery launch, and are looking to repeat the same success in Canada,” Costco Canada’s senior vice-president Andrée Brien said in the news release. At first, delivery service will only be available to Costco members in Southern Ontario, with all orders from Costco.ca processed out of a warehouse in northeast Toronto where dozens of jobs have been created for the venture, Brien said. The new service includes hundreds of grocery, health and beauty products, but it is limited to non-perishable products. It comes with a two-day delivery guarantee and free delivery on orders over $75.

Also, tomorrow, July 24 2018 is the grand opening of the NEW Costco at Thorncliffe Park at 42 Overlea Boulevard in Toronto.

RECALL: No Name brand Chicken Nuggets recalled due to Salmonella


We’d like to let you know of another recall today. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has said that Loblaw Companies Limited is recalling certain No Name brand Chicken Nuggets from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product described below.

Check to see if you have recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of this product. In addition, there has been one reported illness that may be associated with the consumption of this product.

This recall was triggered by findings by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled product from the marketplace.
