Father’s Day is coming up fast, and for those of us (myself included) who are yet to settle on what they are going to get their dear old dad this year, I highly recommend checking out the Hudson’s Bay Canada. What I love about the Bay’s selection of Father’s Day gifts is that they have made their site very easy to navigate to help you find the deal for the best gift.

A couple of the shows I checked out have already sold out of Pizza Pizza discounted tickets, such as Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint Tour show and Lady Antelbellum’s show, but I was able to find a discounted ticket for the Rascal Faltts show on August 27th. Regularly, a single ticket in the Klipsch Lawns would cost $29.75, but I was able to buy one for just $15.36 with the Pizza Pizza promo code.
There will be additional fees on top of your advertised ticket price, but overall you will be paying significantly less than what the regular admission fees are.

The first Friday of every June marks a very special occasion for pastry lovers around the world, as it is National Doughnut Day. National Doughnut Day is celebrated in many ways at various pastry shops around the world, with some offering creative, new doughnuts, while others (like Krispy Kreme Canada and Dunkin Donuts Canada) will be giving away free doughnuts.
At Dunkin Donuts, you will have to purchase a beverage to receive your free doughnut this Friday, June 5th, while at Krispy Kreme you simply have to show up and request your free doughnut. The Hudson’s Bay Canada is having a sale, on top of their ‘suddenly summer sale’, which means that you will be able to save upwards of 60% off – should you have the appropriate forms of tender. This Saturday, May 30th, Shoppers Drug Mart Canada will be having a 20x the Optimum Points event on almost everything in-store, should you spend $50 or more on qualifying product. The products that you will not be allowed to count towards your qualifying minimum of $50 are:

In yesterday’s post, we mentioned how Shoppers would be selling the new Wii U game, Splatoon, for one of the lowest prices found around the web of $59.99 (regularly $69.99). Within Lowe’s Canada’s flyer for this week, they began advertising for what they’re calling the buy more, save more event, where you will be able to save up to 20% off on major appliances – should you buy the qualifying number of appliances. The breakdown of the discounts on the major appliances is as follows:
- buy 1 major appliance, save 10%
- buy 2 major appliances, save 15%
- or buy 3 major appliances, save 20%
In addition to having this buy more, save more event, Lowe’s is also selling off select appliances at special prices, that can be stacked with the buy more, save more offer. For instance, you can purchase an Amazon 4.8 cu. ft. front-load washer for just $758 and an accompanying 7.4 cu. ft. front load dryer for just $548, for a total of $1,296. Since you will be getting two qualifying major appliances, you will then be able to save an extra 15% off this special price, meaning you’ll only have to pay $1,101.60.
Lowe’s will be running the buy more, save more event until June 3rd.
Sears Days is back at Sears Canada for the next week, which will feature the lowest prices of the season on everything from men’s and women’s apparel to major appliances. Sears Days happens a couple of times a year and each time it comes to pass, I still seem to find myself floored by their shockingly low prices. And while this seasonal Sears Days will be running until June 7th, I’d be sure to double check some of the items as their discounted prices may not be around for quite as long.
For instance, this Kenmore 28 cu. ft. 4-Door, French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator (Stainless Steel) is only being sold for the reduced price of $2,999.99 until June 3rd. This markdown makes for a remarkable savings of $700, as the fridge was previously being sold for $3,699.99. However, if $3,000 is still outside of your budget for a new fridge, you could instead check out the Kenmore 19.5 cu.Ft. French Door Bottom Freezer (stainless steel). This fridge is on sale for $400 off the original price, and is now just $1,299.99, but it too will only be on sale at this price until June 3rd.
If you’re looking for a comfortable pair of walking shoes for the summer, then shopping within the Sears Days footwear sale may be a good idea for you. Within this sale, Sears is selling select pairs of sandals and shoes for up to 60% off the original price, though most of these shoes that are this discounted rate are for comfort rather than style. For instance, these Foamtrends ‘Angy’ Leather sandals are currently on sale for just $35.99 (regularly $79.99). The shoes, though they are no espadrille or stiletto, are cushioned with memory foam in the heel, which means that you can wear them all summer long without the worry of growing any extra blisters or sores!
There are a number of other sales going on for the next week within the bed and bath departments, on outdoor living, kitchen and furniture, but remember to check the fine print on each sale’s expiry date, as they will vary by product.

Roots Canada is kicking off their mid-season sale for spring where you can pick up some hot new sale items, that have just been added, for up to 50% off their starting price. The only exclusions to this sale is that it will not include gift cards and items from Roots’ specialty collections, such as Tom Thompson, NFB, Mary Maxim, and Norquay Paddle.
Within the women’s section, most of the products that are marked down by the maximum rate of 50% off are the winter items that are still hanging around, like these cozy fleece leggings (now $24.98) and cashmere fleece pants (now $64.98). That being said, I was still fortunate enough to find some good deals on products that are from more recent seasons. For instance, this spring Bryde coat is now on sale for $79.99, though before it was selling for $130.
The same can be said for the men’s sale, as most of the products that are being sold for 50% off (or more) are from the winter collection. Like this York Fleece shirt, which is now only $34.98, though before was selling for $78. A nice spring jacket that I found while digging through the sale was this men’s gardener jacket, made from 100% cotton. The jacket is now on sale for just $89.99, though before it was being sold for $138.
There isn’t a large selection to choose from in the leather mid-season sale, though I did happen across this beautiful side-bag, called the Monique Bag Prince. Considering that this cross-seasonal bag is normally sold for $248, paying the reduced price of $198.99 wouldn’t be that bad, especially since you’ll be able to use it year-round.
