Loblaws Canada made a big announcement on Thursday afternoon that they would be adding 30 new stores and renovating 500* of their existing stores in 2017. The stores that will be renovated will include both grocery stores that fall under many of Loblaws banners, as well as Shoppers Drug Mart stores. The company is also excited to announce that this expansion will add 10,000 retail and construction jobs.
This announcement comes almost exactly a year after the company announced that they would be adding 50 stores and renovating 150 of their current stores.
They have yet to release where the new stores will be added or which stores are going to be renovated. The stores receiving renovations will be designed to accommodate for the inclusion of click and collect e-commerce (to keep up with e-commerce giants like Amazon), improved health and wellness services and the addition of fresh produce at select Shoppers Drug Marts.
The renovations and expansions are going to cost Loblaws $1.3 billion.

The first deal that I’m going to tell you about, however, is on the iRobot Roomba 620 Vacuum Cleaner, which is currently on sale for just $349.98, though before it was being sold for $398.98 (that’s a $50 savings!) The vacuum cleaner is highly sensitive and can automatically adjust and detect new surfaces like hardwood, carpet, tile or even linoleum and on each surface it will successfully pick up dirt, dust and more so you don’t have to.
One of the best deals going on at Walmart right now is on the Samsung 60″ Smart TV as it is currently being sold for just $1,298, though it is normally sold for $400 more than that at $1,698.

The internet blew up last week following the surprise (and tongue-in-cheek serious) premiere of season three for the hit Adult Swim cartoon, Rick and Morty. Though the show premiered on April 1st, the content of what the show discussed – that is, the fabled szechuan sauce that was retired from McDonald’s menu in the late 90s – is gearing up to have some real world consequences.
In the show, the main character Rick (an alcoholic, mad scientist) admits that the Pandora’s box for all his crotchety and time travelling behavior was the discontinuing of McDonald’s szechuan sauce. Since then, he has been on a mission to bring the sauce back into his life.
