After the success of the $10 daily contest giveaways we had earlier this year I decided to kick it up a notch… or ten… by giving out $100 daily instead! Of course I couldn’t afford that kind of money since I’m just a graduate student at Queen’s. So I decided to seek sponsors and I was surprised by the huge amount of interest I got. Purina’s My Kitten program is giving out free product coupons with the registration of your kitten.  The mykitten kit includes a coupon for a Free Maxx Kitty Kitty Litter (large plastic tub), a free medium sized bag of kitten food and a stainless steal red heart kitten tag.  This program has been around for a while but they would only send a coupon for free kitten food and some informational material.  The new kitten package sounds great!

The also have a My Puppy program.  I’ve gotten this one before and I got a coupon for a free medium size bag of puppy food.  Maybe they have an additional freebie for this one too now.

If you don’t have a kitten, this would be a really nice way to make a donation to your local animal shelter.  They can always use litter and pet food!

None of us wants to lose our pet so lets make it easier to get them back if they do wander off.  You can register your pets with the Humane Society and they will send you a FREE pet tag with your pet’s name and your contact information.   There is also a unique id number and toll free phone number on the tag that can be used if your pet is found anywhere in Canada or the U.S.  This is a great way to help get your pet back to you if they get lost and it’s free!

I did this a couple of years ago for my old dog and forgot about it when I got my new one so I’ve registered her and am awaiting her tag.  It may take a little time but they do come.
