Although I was personally very saddened by the death of Michael Jackson, I’ve avoided posting about this unfortunate event on the SmartCanucks blog since I think the media has more than saturated us with this. Some of you might remember the good old days when Future Shop Online had free shipping on everything! That was until the evil Best Buy Corp. bought poor little Canadian Future Shop. It then made a few changes to Future Shop including charging for shipping when you ordered from FutureShop.ca. You still get free shipping if you choose “Pick up from Store” but you’d have to drive to the store which is a waste of time and money. If I could get free shipping on any order like I used to a few years ago, I’d be ordering online from Future Shop much more than I do now.

Well it looks like the economic recession is forcing Best Buy to think twice about bringing back free shipping! Best Buy Canada and Future Shop are having a “Free Shipping Event”. The Best Buy Canada free shipping event seems to expire on August 1st, 2009 but the FutureShop free shipping seems indefinite!

As you guys know I have a “Suggest a Deal” form on the blog’s sidebar where people can let me know of any good deals out there. You’d never imagine how many none related messages I get through this form. People send messages asking for help, attaching a picture of their babies or some random picture or saying random meaningless stuff. It’s just pretty amusing really 😛

Yesterday I got the weirdest message so far. The title of the message was “how i could be a canadian” and here’s the message:
