If you’d like to save an additional 15% off on top of Porter Airlines Canada’s public sale, which has base fares on sale for up to 50% off, then you will have to book your flights by 11:59pm EST this evening. After this time, Porter’s promo code, CHPHVW, will no longer be valid and you will only have access to the public sale – which is still pretty good, but not quite as good as saving an extra 15% off.
The summer sale that Porter is having will be available until 11:59pm EST on June 12th, and you will have to book your dates of travel by September 17th at the very latest. Most of the summer will then be open to travel, except for the following blackout dates, which will not be part of the public sale:
- June 26th – 28th
- July 1st – 10th
- July 31st – August 4th
- and September 3rd – 8th
Apart from these dates, there are very few restrictions to be found in this seat sale. Though if you are booking flights on Thursday, Friday or Sunday, there will be a much fewer number of seats available between 4pm-8pm, so if you prefer these times for when you are travelling you had better book earlier rather than later.

Lululemon Canada has once again updated their We Made Too Much sale, and, as is pretty standard by now with their sales, the sizes and styles are already running slim in some of the more popular deals. I’d advise you to purchase quickly but also cautiously as once you choose the item you want from the We Made Too Much Sale and have it delivered to your home, you will not be able to return or exchange it for another size as all items are final sale.
One of the less workout focused pieces from the sale was this beautiful satnam wrap, now only $99 (was $148). To celebrate Canada Day, which is now less than a month away, the Royal Canadian Mint has decided to put out a special promotion on their Canadian Flag – 25-Cent Circulation Coin Pack, as it is also the 50th anniversary of our nation’s flag. I’ll be the first to admit that, while Michael Kors Canada does produce some fine products, most of the time they’re luxury handbags and fine designer shoes are well outside my budget for clothing, and sometimes even outside of my budget for household kitchen appliances! However, within their summer sale I can slowly begin to readjust my spending frame so as to accommodate for these beautifully crafted accessories, as some of the products listed are being sold for up to 50% off!
When I first began looking through the sale, one of the first bags that caught my eye was this Cindy Medium Saffiano Leather Dome Satchel, which is now on sale for just $208.50 (was $268). While $208.50 is still a bit more then I’d like to pay for a handbag, the refined details of Saffiano leather and silver finished hardware give the bag an added elegance that you would be hard pressed to find in a lesser quality bag.

There’s some unfortunate news just released today. Blacks Photography Canada has just announced that they will be closing all 59 of their store locations. Blacks tried to overhaul their stores last year and have made attempts to evolve in the new digital age, but unfortunately they haven’t been able to realize a profitable enough growth. Unfortunately attempts to find a buyer for Blacks have failed as well.
The closure will leave approximately 485 employees without jobs, but Telus, Blacks’ parent company, will attempt to find employees spots at other outlets such as Telus or Koodo. Others who cannot be found positions will be offered a “transition package”.
Right now there is no word about how Blacks will unload their remaining merchandise, or when the sales will start. All stores are expected to close on August 8, 2015.

Walmart Canada has a wide and varied selection of both classic and newly released films available on Blu-Ray, but what’s more shocking about their Blu-Ray DVDs is not the sheer number of films you will have to choose from (which there is plenty), rather the prices they are being sold at.
Classic movies are now available at Walmart in Blu-Ray DVD for just $7.96. Some titles include films like Jumanji, The Goonies, Dumb and Dumber, Planes Trains and Automobiles, plus many other popular titles that I don’t have nearly enough room to list in full entirety here, but you can take my word that there is a large and diverse selection to choose from.
Usually, these classic titles – and newly released movies – would sell on other sites (like Amazon.ca, or Best Buy) for around $12-$15, and that is at their lowest available price. For instance, when looking for the movie Hook on Blu-Ray, the cheapest price I was able to find on Amazon.ca was almost $16, whereas Walmart was only selling it for $7.96.

As with every Tuesday, VIA Rail Canada offers their weekly discounts on Escape fares for either Economy or Sleeper class tickets with the only catch being really that the hot prices will only be available until midnight of that Tuesday. Today’s offers follow the same restrictions, though there are some rather hot discounts in both the Economy sale and the Sleeper sale that I found, that some of you may be interested in checking out this week.
If you’re looking for a cheap daytime activity to do with you and a friend, and you reside within the GTA, then you may want to check out the prices that VIA Rail is offering on a one-way Economy class ticket to Niagara Falls. Right now, if you book your dates of travel for Niagara Falls for between June 13th and June 19th, then you will only have to pay as little as $19 for a one-way ticket.
The dates for this Niagara Falls trip are only valid for the Quebec City-Windsor corridor, so if you are travelling on a long-haul trip the dates will be extended to being between June 13th to July 10th.

Health Canada as recently issued a warning regarding Maggi Canada noddles. Recently Nestle has removed all Maggi Brand noodles from the marketplace in India due to the possibility that these products may contain lead. As of now the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has released a warning to consumers about these noodles. They are currently investigating the incident in India and if there is a possibility that the lead tainted products have affected Maggi noodles sold in Canada. As of now, no recall has been issued in Canada, but if you’ve currently got Maggi noddles in your home please refrain from eating them until the investigation is complete.

Crocs Canada is kicking off for summer this weekend with an incredible sitewide sale on everything, including new arrivals as well as previously marked down styles. Within all of these sections and departments you will be able to save an additional 25% off when you head through checkout, so bear that in mind when you’re looking at the advertised prices as once you add your items to your cart they will be further marked down (with no promo code either!)
