I’m looking for a skilled/professional designer to help me re-design SmartCanucks to make it look nicer, more elegant and more professional. There are loads of designers out there but the ones I came across either charged ridiculously expensive fees or they sucked. If you know of a reasonably priced designer with excellent skills please email me.

It looks like McDonalds Canada will be launching a new line of sandwiches/burgers: The McDonalds McMinis. The Mcdonalds Mcmini burgers will consist of a portion of grilled or cripsy seasoned chicken topped with pesto or Thai sauce on a mini baguette. Mcminis will cost $1.99 plus tax. Interestingly we’re the first country in the world to get the Mcdonalds Mcminis! We’re being used as the guinea pigs I guess 😛 .
I’m not sure how large these burgers will be nor have I tried them, so it’s hard to make up my opinion on them yet. But if they’re single bite burgers I’d rather stick to the yummy unhealthy value meals.
What are your thoughts on the Mcdonalds Mcminis? Will you be trying them out?
Here’s the Mcdonalds Mcmini Canada Ad that will be airing on TV. I’m lovin the song in that ad 😀

Well, cardboard towel season is here, time to shut off those dryers and get your clothes out on the line. I personally love the smell of line dried sheets and blankets. Such a lovely smell to curl up to at bedtime. But… I draw the line at towels. I can’t handle it. They dry like cardboard, and feel about the same drying off with. I’ve been told before to just finish them off in the dryer and they will fluff back up. I have tried but to no avail, they still feel like cardboard. I use good quality Columbia towels, so its not like the quality is a problem.
Do you line dry your towels? Do you just bare the cardboard feel and consider it extra exfoliation when you dry off? Is there a secret trick I haven’t been told?
If you have the space to line dry I highly recommend line drying what you can, it definitely puts extra money in your pocket by not turning on that dryer as much.
Also (I’m full of questions today) do you dry your intimates on the line? Do you care if your neighbours get a sneak peek at your gotchies and bras?
It’s almost that time of year again when the kids get to take a week off school to enjoy the winter and pack in some exciting activities. A lot of people take this opportunity to go down South for the week, but if you’re like me you need some ideas closer to home that wont break the bank.
That being said there are a lot of activities going on in most communities that can get your family active and out of the house. Here are some of the activities I found:
1. YMCA March Break Day Camps-check your local YMCA because most of them offer day camps throughout the march break that have fun activities for kids. It’s getting them active and it’s a chance to meet new people.
2. Local Libraries offer a ton of activities for kids all year round and even more activities during the March Break. A lot of the activities provided by your local library are free and are worth checking out!
3. Check your local Community Center for events during the break. Most offer more public swimming, skating or drop in times for team sports. It’s a great way to stay active this March break.
4. Volunteer in your community. It’s a rewarding experience to help someone out and there are tons of places you can volunteer your time with your family this March Break.
For more great things to do with your family this March Break check your city’s local website.
If you have any additional ideas please share them so everyone can take advantage of their March Break.
Not sure if all you know about the great promotional Gifts That Grow codes that Pampers offers. The great posters here on Smart Canucks keep me up to date on all the new codes. Here are some of the promo codes that have been working:
Men’s hockey just won Gold in 3-2 overtime! That brings our medal total to 26. With 14 Gold’s, 7 Silver and 5 Bronze. We came third behind the US and Germany in medal ranking, but we did have the most Gold medals. This was the most Gold medals by any host country ever.
What was your favourite moment of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games? Perhaps it was when Alex Bilodeau won the first gold medal, Joannie Rochette winning that bronze medal for her mother, Jasey Jay Anderson winning the men’s snowboard parallel giant slalom gold medal, Jon Montgomery wining gold for men’s skeleton, Christine Nesbitt winning gold in women’s speed skating, Charles Hamelin winning gold in men’s short track speed skating etc etc etc. Maybe it was the opening game ceremonies, or just the overall “I believe” spirit that was evident in many of the competitions.
I am kind of sad to see the Olympic games end, I have watched more of these ones then any other olympic games, perhaps that they were in Canada, I just felt more connected to it. I can’t imagine being in BC at the time and seeing all the crowds of red mitts in the streets, it must have been an awesome experience for some of us. I thought Jon Montgomery’s win was one of the highlights, he was just soo ecstatic when he won, it was fun to watch.

So apparently the Pook Toque has been out for a while but this is the first I’ve heard of it. Interestingly enough the inventors originate from St Mary’s Ontario, a quick jog from Stratford, (Justin Bieber’s stomping grounds) which is fairly close to where I reside.
Whats a Pook Toque? A sock hat that has many moods.
Click here to see the video from the Vancouver Olympics. Or click here for a quick run down from You Tube
So… what do you think of it? Would you buy one? Do you already own one? I must say the many moods of the Pook Toque cracked me right up, I can’t decide If I like the bowler style or the executive the best!
Interested in ordering one? They retail for $26 including shipping. Also available are childrens versions and scarves etc. Click here to check out their site
