Worst Company in Canada 2010: Nominations

Worst Company in Canada 2010

Since 2010 is almost over I decided to start an annual “contest” where we nominate and vote for Canada’s Best and Worst companies of the year! I’ve noticed a significant drop in customer service over the past couple of years so I’m sure nominating the worst through 2010 will not be too hard.

Post your Worst Company nominations and the reason for shaming the companies in the comment box below. You can nominate absolutely any company as long as it operates in Canada. You have till Wednesday Dec 29th, 2010 to nominate the worst companies of the year after which we’ll have a public poll to choose the Worst Company.

So, what’d you get for Christmas?

Christmas Gifts Canada

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and got some marvelous gifts 😉

I got a cologne and a *drum roll please* iPad!  Now I own a Macbook Pro, iPhone, iPod classic, iPod touch and now an iPad (none of which I had paid for) and can confidently say my life is  complete 😛

I also made a few of people happy with my Christmas gifts but the biggest smile was on my sister’s face when she saw I had gotten her a  violet Lululemon Scuba Hoodie 🙂

Guess where I’ll be spending Boxing Day? At home! No more money spending for me surprised

What gifts did you get for Christmas? And whose day did you brighten with your gifts?

Smart Canucks Countdown to Christmas & Boxing Day Favourite Xmas Flick

elf

Well tis the last weekend to shop before Christmas!  The malls were crazy today, so many shoppers running around realizing they have to start Christmas shopping lol!

I missed the Christmas countdown the last few days. I feel so busy lately.  I had to go to Kitchener and get my kids passports, shop and oh ya bottle my batches of vino.

Anyways I’m wondering what your favourite Christmas movie is?  I love the movie Elf but I also really love National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  I look forward to hearing what your favourite(s) are.

* Well my tummy just turned. I was looking up images of Elf and came across a tutorial on how to make your ears into elf ears. I mean literally change them. Ew. Don’t click the “elf ears” link unless you seriously want to see*

Dear manufacturers of the world – Quit using these stupid paper stickers!

I came across this on reddit and couldn’t resist not sharing!

stickers Canada

No matter how slow and careful I am while peeling these silly stickers, I always end up with a piece of the sticker and glue on the product.

Even worse, all Canada Energy Guide stickers on appliances (fridges, stoves, etc.) use that super glue to stick on these HUGE ugly labels! Good luck removing those!

Smart Canucks Christmas Canada… Enough Snow Already! 11 Days Until Christmas!

snowflake

11 days until Christmas! (12 for Boxing day bonanzas.)

I’d like to send all you readers in Toronto all of our snow.  We have over 4 feet here in South Western Ontario and I’m sick of it!  In the past 7 school days 5 of them have been snow days. Roads are closed, and the weather is not letting up.  We have been hit really hard this year so far and when I saw Toronto on the news the other day I wanted to cry.  I am only 2 hours from you guys, this is no fair!

So……To remedy the situation I have hired 100 dump trucks. Delivery should be within the next 72 hours.

Smart Canucks Christmas Countdown: 12 Days Until Christmas *Festive Music*

kim_stockwood

Well ladies and gents, Christmas is almost here ready or not. Only 12 days left (13 for the big boxing day sales 😉 )  To count down to the festivities Smart Canucks  will feature a special countdown topic. If you have an idea for a topic please feel free to use the suggest a deal feature.

Today is Christmas music.  I find as i’m getting older i’m embracing Christmas music more and more each year.  Last night I was lucky enough to attend the “I Love Santa” Christmas special performance by Kim Stockwood

What  a great Christmas special!  Kim is not only an amazing singer shes also quite comedic on stage.  Playing with Kim were 2 amazing artists in their own rights Tim Bovaconti and Kevin Fox.  Kim gave them both their own spotlight to showcase themselves!  My favourite performance of the evening was Silver Bells.  Such a classic Christmas tune.  After the show Kim did a personal meet and greet with fans to sign cd’s and some light chit chat.  She really connects and appreciates her fans, which was a nice treat.

What are your favourite Christmas tunes of all time?  I think my all time favourite is Greensleves (aka what child is this)  I just love the melody.

Canadian Parents: Beech Nut Is No Longer Available In Canada Once Current Stock Is Depleted

beech_nut

A Sc’er posted about this a few days ago on the forum and I thought I’d let the blog readers know too.  Beech Nut unfortunately will not be continuing selling their baby foods and items in Canada once their current stock has depleted.  Personally Beech Nut has always been my favourite baby food, it seemed to be thicker and more hearty then brands such as Gerber.  I suggest you stock up now since who knows how long stocks are going to last.  Click here for the forum discussion.
